Hi Rick...I think I have a photo of Lewis Elsner and Sarah Elmina Byrd Hanks stone, I know that Sarah has two headstones. One, Lewis handmade and put on her grave when she died. They are my great-grandparents. The graves are located about the middle of the cemetary.. I have a cutting of the plant from Lewis and Sarah's resting place. I may have more, but will have to locate them...give me a day or two. Owen and Willie Hester Hanks Lawrence are my great Uncle and Aunt.. Aunt Willie was my grandmother, Ollie Mae Hanks Grills' , sister. Later....Joyce ---- Candy Lawrence <candyandrick@cox.net> wrote: > Hey Izardites! > > If anyone is nearby or going to the Old Philadelphia Cemetery in larkin, I could use four gravestone photos if you wouldn't mind. Thanks Marilyn, Can you help me with a death date for her. The tombstone must be wrong, she is living with her son James for the Census in 1910. That was taken on 27 April 1910. I do not find her for 1920 so she may have died between 1910 and 1920. The 24 May 1908 as on her stone is used widely almost by everyone, guess they thought if it was on her tombstone it must be right. Any help appreciated. On the headstone for Sarah Elizabeth Baker in the Onia Cem. Stone, AR, her death is indicated as 24 May 1908. That seems to be a wide held date for her death. Sarah was the daughter of Littleton Baker and Martha Morgan. The 1910 Census Arkansas, Stone, Farris, lists Sarah E. Lawrence 77, mother, living with son James Littleton Lawrence and his wife Rachel Emaline Huffines. Seems like the headstone for Sarah may have the wrong date on it. Anyone know the story on this? In Poughkeepsie? Haven't been there in years. Don't know. Anyone? Beth P.S. if you haven't seen the beginning of the one in Calico Rock yet, YOU ALL MUST GO VISIT! It is currently entered through the Visitors Center, Chamber of Commerce building on Main St. It is in the old City Council Conference Room(when it was City Hall) or the Mail Room of the old Post Office( What a history, already, huh?) The Museum Foundation has purchased the Rand Building(the 1st Perryman Hardware story building during my school years) next door toward the White River and currently has Artisans Works there for sale, thru Dec----I believe. If you haven't gotten by to visit, take the time and do both on Friday or Saturday, sometime this fall! You'll enjoy it! Wanted to go through the museum there, but it was still closed last time I went thru. Anyone know if it's open yet? g.
