Hello, Annis - nice to see you here. Yes, I discovered this some time ago, because I have lots of people in Buffalo City, Marion County. I also noticed Whiteville was location for others -- and I knew it was in Marion County. Kinda tricky and nuisance to have to catch and change Madison to Marion. I know we are working same area because often run into you. My public ancestry trees: (1) PERRY - BATY & LUTHER - WOOLEY (2) KING- HULSEY x3 (3) RIDGWAY-McWHERTER (4) CLAYTON-McEACHERN P-B & L-W: All are surnames of my mother's grandparents, Izard, Marion, Baxter. Good records on Thomas Dittmus MARTIN & Susan HUTCHESON of Izard and Baxter Counties. Some other allied families: COTTON / WATTS / BEAVERS / BAILEY / BRANTLEY / COMER / BALLARD / K-H: x3 for great-grandfather Wm. KING m. Eliz. HULSEY; his brother James M. KING m. (sister of Eliz.) Margaret HULSEY; their brother Alfred Joseph HULSEY m (1) Henrietta ALLEN in Independence Co., AR; m (2) Eliza KING [formerly BOX] (a sister of William & James M. KING, above. R-McW: (surnames of my great-grandparents) Early records on my ancestral families: RIDGWAY (England> Halifax Co., VA > Rutherford Co., TN > Among first settlers in Henry County and adjacent Weakley County, TN (related to most people living in these counties > Pemiscot Co., MO > Izard & Sharp Cos., AR [most of RIDGWAY great-aunts and uncles married, lived in Lawrence, Sharp, and Craighead Cos. > gr-grandfather RIDGWAY migrated after 1880 to Sharp County, then Baxter, then Wagoner, Creek Nation, OK; recently widowed gr-gr-grandfather migrated from Pemiscot, MO to Sharp Co, AR with at least ten children > 1880s to Baxter County, living there until he died in 1917. Surnames allied to RIDGWAY: GOODWIN / HOWARD / KILLEBREW / BUCKLEY / ATKINS / CHIZENHALL / many others in Henry and Weakley Counties. Surnames allied to McWHERTER: TODD / SHERRILL / CLAYTON / SIMPSON / some descendants lived in Boone & Baxter Cos. C-Mc - "Memorial" tree to Ora Mae {McEACHERN} CLAYTON. Her grandfather migrated from Mississippi with the William NELSON family of Buford. Her mother was Sarah LEMON, who married "Jack" McEACHERN. They migrated to Broken Arrow, Oklahoma, where the lived and died. I am not blood-related to Mae and Earl CLAYTON but we were closer to them than some of our relatives. Mae was one of five daughters of Jack and Sarah McEACHERN. My parents probably knew the family at church. Sarah McEACHERN was sick a long time and was bedfast. My parents had "Market" garden and would drop off food. After her mother's death, my mother becane Mae's best friend and "second" mother. We spent lots of time together all through the years. My mom and Mae would sew and can. We went to the laundry in Broken Arrow, or to grocery store. Their two daughters were just a bit younger and we spent lots of time together, playing house, playing school, playing "Pretty or Ugly," Parchesi, Checkers, Wahoo, playing with paper dolls, hide-and-seek, jacks, etc. My sister Clea was about their same age. They seened like older siblings to me. So, I had a bit of information on Mae's family - and wondered if Earl's CLAYTON family was related way back to mine, so I began this tree. All of the above trees are naturally "a work in progress" and I work on them most every day. Look them over -- you may find some connection. I haven't added my ROBERTSON, KNIGHT and BAGWELL records yet. Nor have I scanned my pictures. but hoping to do that soon. Have so much more to do. Now going on 74, I just hope I can keep working on them a long time! With best wishes for your good health, Annis. I appreciate you and welcome input from any of you. Peggy Peggy {KING} TRUESDELL

Bill, just got an e-mail from Joanne Martin Weston and she informed me I had another cousin on the Arizard list, namely you! I had wondered when your name came up on the list, but never asked. My grandparents were Walter Davis Cantrell and Kee Jane Powell. My Mom was Lois, the oldest of the Cantrell kids! Don't know much about your side of the family --on the Adams side---so all I know is Pa Cantrell's aunt " Sweetie" married William M. If you set out several put a good bit of space between them. That way more than one male can have a feeder. If you have some pine trees that's the best place to put them. The small branches/needles are just right for humming bird feet to perch on. Before we got our new house there was a pine tree right outside the bedroom window and I had a feeder there. The male would roost for hours right beside the feeder guarding it from other males. If I let the feeder get a little to low he would buzz me whenever I went outdoors to let me know. Ok~~I was told by an old timer~~(older than me!!!) that if you just MOVE the feeders around~~put one about a foot or more from the others, one hummer can't guard ALL of them~~~ Also, I found out how to keep bees off my feeders~~~just pour some veg oil on a paper towel, & swab the feeder down with it~~~ The hummers don't care, and it confuses the bees~~~ Does anyone else use just sugar and water? And when I'm through boiling the water, & it cools I add one or two drops of vanilla extract~~ They LOVE it~~and it doesn't harm them~~ hugs Jean S Don't tell GOD how great your STORM is, tell the STORM how great your GOD is! What would happen if I had a 2nd feeder? Would Pop let Jr. eat peacefully there? Aunt Ruth has huge feeder (maybe 1/2 gallon size) and a regular size feeder. She used to have a Catawba tree about 30 ft away (tree is gone now). Tree was loaded with white frilly blooms when I visited once. Hundreds of hummers would zip from tree to feeders. They didn't care if we walked in their path or not! I mistakenly thought they were quiet little birds before then. Also, found out they were mean to each other. Some of you might already know this but 1870 Census for Marion County is listed in Madison County on Ancestry.com. Take me a long time to find it. Hope this helps someone. Annis

Couldn't believe when 2 was eating in same whole at same time They are really thick and busy. All sizes. we usually leave our feeders out late. Some tines it is the first of Oct before they leave.. and yes they are amazing to watch. Sure can make away with alot of food. we just use sugar water. Thanks for the comment.
