    3. Pat, before you spend a lot of money on genealogical websites, you might want to try some other alternatives. Many large city libraries have a subscription to Ancestry and Heritage Quest that they provide free to their patrons. You can access them in-Library or at home by using your Library card number. Just go to their website and look for the Ancestry and Heritage Quest logos in their "Databases" section. In addition, many libraries who have a large "genealogy research" patronage provide special access to their patrons at no cost. It may require a lot of searching, but you can usually come up with access somewhere. From time to time I have been able to get in through the Batesville Indiana library and the Falmouth Mass library. You may first want to see what is required in way of a library card or an ID for access. But it is usually worth the effort.....Harold B. -------------------------------------------------- From: "Pat Brewer" <epbrewer@fmtc.com> Sent: Sunday, November 28, 2010 8:29 PM To: "Arizard@rootsweb.com" <arizard@rootsweb.com> Subject: [ARIZARD] Ancestry - Help > > A few weeks ago some of us were discussing Ancestry, the pros and cons. > Someone said they had just subscribed, but was able to get a cheaper rate > than was shown on the screen. 3. One thing to remember when making your decision about ancestry is they acquired Footnote and you can access their records, print them or attach them. Putting my information on trees has helped me a great deal.  Most every day they notify me of new records they have found for an individual.  I believe the $19.95 per month that is automatically charged to my checking account is well worth it.  On my next birthday will be 74, so want to get my information "out there."  My daughter (48) was always bit resentful of my ancestry searching, so I did her tree.  It is amazing how much I've been able to find.  Most of her ancestry is Northeast and in just few months have most lines back to 1600 and 1700s. I've collected information since mid-1970s, spending many days and evenings in the library.  Some days would not find anything.  Ancestry has helped me accomplish so much more. Just thought I'd put in my two cents. You will see when you page down to the images and see the original transcription. It may not be as interesting to you since you may not have heard aunt Ruby talk about them as much, but I remember mother mentioning a lot of the names. There were two churches, the one at Wheeling was the original, then the one at Day, ' New Hope' was orgianized later. We had a great day yesterday, twenty-four were here for dinner. The temp. was in the 40's and rainy. but it was down to 21 when we got up this morning. Lela had such a good time, I havn't seen her so excited for a long time. I called this motning and she was still excited. Our kids all got here with out any trouble, Katie and Ryan had good roads. They drove to Salina, Ks. Tues eveing, got a motel, then came on Wednesday. They all left this morning to go to Dennis' brother's . Bye for now. 3. Morn-in Cuz Junebug, Ed, all our other Cuzzies and buddies on the list. Judy and I feel the same as Cuz June. Here is a Special Happy Thanksgiving to you all from our family. We would like as Cuz Junebug wish all our military could be home. Although Stacy will be having to go back to Afghanistan the 5th of December we are thankful he was able to come home for a few days to be with us We want to wish all the military boys, girls and family that are not as lucky as us to know that we have a SPECIAL feeling in our hearts for what they are going though and doing . At times when we think there is nothing to feel good about . Think about what these boy and girls have done and what they will be doing to help make this the best country in the world for us to live in. If you know one of them take a min to drop them a card and say THANK YOU. It would mean so much. Happy Thanksgiving JIM and Judy -- Original Message ----- From: "June Ramsey" <junebug@centurytel.net> To: arizard@rootsweb.com Sent: Wednesday, November 24, 2010 9:40:10 PM Subject: Re: [ARIZARD] Happy Thanksgiving!
