    3. June, there is a file on Rootsweb by Betty Cavner that says, "Mahlon died on 22 March 1889, when he drowned in White River with 2 of his sons, James and William." He and his wife and children must have lived near Lunenburg, according to the 1880 census, so I'm guessing he is buried in one of the cemeteries near the river down there, or just across in Stone County. I ran all three names through Find-A-Grave, in both Izard and Stone, with no results......Haroldb -------------------------------------------------- From: "Junebug" <[email protected]> Sent: Saturday, July 21, 2012 12:57 PM To: <[email protected]> Subject: Re: [ARIZARD] Morning ouestion > Yes thanks Harold i I have the other husbands of Nannie too. she married > Mahlon 1878, John M. 3. June, I saw where you were asking questions about this lady. I just now ran across her obituary. The date doesn’t match the date on the gravestone. I would say I made a typo but that would mean I typed the whole year 1947 of the Melbourne Times wrong. Feb 27, 1947 – Mrs Nannie Smith Mrs Nannie Smith age 85, died Saturday afternoon at the home here of a daughter, Mrs Martha Hays. She was a native of Izard County and a member of the Church of Christ. In addition to Mrs Hays she is survived by another daughter, Mrs Nettie Keeth Smith of Sapulph, Okla., and three sons, R. H. Smith of Bristow, Okla., Preston Smith of Mt. View and Leonard Smith of Twin Creek. Funeral services were conducted Sunday afternoon at the local Church of Christ by Elder G. W. Howard and burial was at the Combs Cemetery with arrangements in charge of Higginbotham Funeral Service. ==================== Combs Cemetery On FAG it shows: Spouse #1 Malon Smith

    3. Very funny Harold. Thanks for the laugh. Lee Anne Harold Blevins wrote: "My ancestry goes all the way back to Alexander the Great", said one Society lady. She then turned to a second woman and asked, "How far does you family go back?" "I don't know", was the reply, "All our family records were lost in The Flood. "
