Evening all Looking for any info on Cecil and Doris with a stone in Mount Calm Cemetery, Fulton County Arkansas. Think Cecil was married to a Martha Ellen Smith that died in Granite, Oklahoma in 1993. Martha may have been married to a Ernest McCafferty after Cecil . Thanks in advance JIM M

I have found on the 1850 census a Mourning Ramsey living with John Hill and Elizabeth? Hill She is 43 and is from Kentucky. Does anyone know who she may be? John and Elizabeth's son Henry Hill later married Margaret Ramsey. I just wondered how and if Mourning was related to either one of them. Thanks.
Hi Annita: I'm fine; staying much busier than I want to, but at least things are not dull. Greg & April's little December had a birthday party last month; Eden, Megan & Joe's little girl will be having a party (think it's) this Wed. night at Danny & Janelle's. They are precious little girls. How are you doing? What is wrong with your husband? We are having some beautiful fall days and I love it. The leaves are turning and are so pretty. Love to you, and thanks for what you sent. I'm copying it. Betty, How are you - miss you, but do at least read the ARIZARD emails although I've been busy taking care of my husband. I don't know if this will help much, but I found Levi Bowling listed on the 1820 Virginia US Census, by doing a google search. The site is www.findmypast.com and lists him under the Category of Census, Land, & Substitutes, Nara Series M33, Nara Roll I33, no city/town, but Culpepper County, Virginia. This site gives you one free search and charges $4.17 a month or $5.25 for 6 months, etc., to join. This might be worth it for Pauline to find additional information and view the original document (I believeshe could view the original, but she might do some more reading to find out if she would want to join). I didn't get a second chance to ask for the parents, but if he was listed at five years old, I would think his parents/guardians would also be listed, wouldn't you? Like I said, I don't know if this is any help but here it is for what it's worth. In the cemetery book there is only one Dillinger listed, Dr. John Dillinger. I would be very interested in who you have there. If you have pix I would love to have them submitted to the arkansasgravestones.org. Dr. Dillinger is the only person we have pictured there in the Lewis Cemetery. Vera, If you have the Izard County EHC Cemetery Record Book, the cemetery I believe you are referring to is on page 135. It reads, "This cemetery is not to be confused with the Lewis Cemetery near Mt. Pleasant. This one is located on road #9 not far from Tate road #7, and is on Elvie Lewis' farm. This is a very old cemetery, and there is evidence of about six graves. Elvie said no one he ever talked to knew who was buried there. There was an old house standing nearby many years ago. Both the house and cemetery were next to the East Rocky Bayou. Sometime in the past, some Marchant and Sipe families lived in this area." Elvie Lewis died 11-Nov-2008, so it is too late to ask him any more questions. I talked to his daughter, who now owns the part of the farm where the graves are. She said it has never been marked off as a cemetery to her knowledge and has always been pastured. She said you are not able now to see where the "indentions" were. She also said her dad had said there were Indian Mounds on the farm and she felt the graves were probably Indian graves. Is there anyone who can tell me something about this cemetery? Is it on private property? Is it kept mowed? The picture I saw showed the grass about waist high.
Hi Betty: The library of Virginia has the R. Bolling Batte cards you can access on line. It has a lot of information on ancestors in Virginia. I think you can access them by doing a ghoogle search - R. Bolling Batte papers. I found a lot of my ancestral information there. He has put information on file cards with sources and will mention where available the children, wills, marriages, etc. And he is from a Bolling family which might just fit in your friends ancestors in VA. The cards are searchable by surname. Good luck. Hello List: Does anyone know of any Dixon male who has or would be willing to have a DNA test done for genealogy purposes? My Mom was Sarah Lou Dixon and I've had an MtDNA-plus done and on-line, but would like to see a male test done. I know our Dixon's and Cooper's intermarried and there are several Cooper's who have submitted their DNA and they match, so it confirms the paper trail information that we have. Any help would be appreciated. BettyC
