Diana, You're exactly correct. That's when I buy a book - after I learn there is definitely something in there that I need (even if that one date might be the only thing I need). Darned if I'm going to spend the amounts of money books cost us today "out of the blue." Rebecca's placed a very unfavorable label on her forehead to me, and I'll be skeptical of buying more of her books just because of this attitude. To me, genealogy has always been about sharing, not playing "I've got a secret." Cordially......... "Papa John" Groom Las Vegas, NV
I will respect Rebecca's wishes but i have to agree with you. I have shelves full of books that I probably would not have bought if I could not have some one verify what is in it. Wouldn't we all be in trouble if everyone who wrote a book asked us not to do lookups out of that book. I help a lot of folks with genealogy and I would be up the creek if I couldn't use the books I have to do lookups. But as I said I will respect Rebecca's wishes but I doubt I will buy her books now. ----- Original Message ----- From: <[email protected]> To: <[email protected]> Sent: Sunday, November 25, 2001 1:29 PM Subject: [AR IND.] Sharing > Diana, > > You're exactly correct.
