I am going to be in Arkansas for a few days in December. Can anyone tell me if they have been to the Court house in Independence Co., AR to hunt probate records or land deeds? I am hoping to try and find my ggg-grandfathers probate records and or a record of when his farm was sold in the late 1860's. Does anyone know if the court house still has any of these older records or where they might now be located? Thanks Jeannia
I've been to Independence Co. court house and found that they have their probate records indexed on the computer in the court house while the loose probate papers are at the museum at 9th and Vine. Also, they don't photocopy from their old books unless the pages are loose. I didn't have a camera with me so had to hand copy wills at the court house.
Thanks so much and I will remember to bring my camera "just in case I find something!!" :) Jeannia -----Original Message----- From: Virginia D.
