Hi List, I'm new here, and just discovered my husbands GG Grandparents came from 'independence County, Arkansas.' I cannot locate a town on the web page for the county called 'Barren.' Was there such a town, and if so, does it still exist, or did it change to some other name? I am researching the 'JORDAN' family. Thank you All! Dena, that is Barren township in Independence Co. Ar. A township is an area within a county. There are several townships in Independence Co. Ar.
