    3. There is a Jahalum Witter age 17 born Ill on the 1850 census for Indp living with a Lawrence family. and also a family of Witten which might be Witter if one looked at the original. I have a print out and sometimes r and n ar confused. these are Witten?     3. Thanks to all who replied to my inquiry about WITTER. Actually, I did have the information about the Jahalem on the 1850 census for INDP. My own ggrandfather is Elias Morgan Witter. Census information has him born in AR and that his parents are from IL. Jahalem then could be the father of My Elias (or not). Especially since Elias has a brother named Jahaland. I am really hoping to get more information on Jahalem in 1860, since then maybe he be married and list his children. Elias, born in 1852, is living in Madison Co by 1877. We forge on...
