According to census listings Richard was born in either SC or AL (MS territory), and Sidney in TN. They had nine children: Minerva (b. 1832 in AL, m. Lewis Jones 9/26/1853 in Shelby County AL); Mary (b. 1835 in AL, m. Ira Martin 8/5/1856 in Shelby County); Lucas Michael "Lafayette" (b. Feb 1840 in AL, d. 18 Dec 1912 in AL; m. Margaret Jane Roy 11/14/1875); Jonas "Jones" (b. 1841 in AL; m. Lucy J. ? before 1866); Harriet Ann (b. 1844 in AL); Susan (b. 1844 in AL); Martha (b. 1846 in AL); Lewis (b.
