Eliza was 51 years old when they married in November 1894, so I'm assuming she was past child bearing age. In the 1880 Independence County census, John Dee and his first wife Mary Jane had Josephine, 12, Lewella, 10, Wm. A., 6, Nannie E., 5 and Jesse 10/12. In the 1900 census, Henry, 16 born Mar 1884 and Joe, 9, born October 1890. A Jesse B. Seward, born August 1, 1879, d. July 21, 1964 is buried in Macedonia Cemetery in Newark, AR. That's all the info I have-Eliza was my ancestor, not Dee, so I haven't done a lot of research on the Seward line. Their obits read: Newark Journal, May 31, 1907 J.D. Seward, one of the town's oldest and best known citizens, died at his home her yesterday (Thursday) about 1 o'clock, after a prolonged illness from lung trouble. He was a member of the Christian church and was a good citizens. Newark Journal, June 29, 1906 Mrs. J.D. Seward died at her home in this city Saturday afternoon as a result of injuries received from falling off the porch several days ago. She was 70 years old and was a most estimable Christian lady, having been a member of the Christian church for a number of years. The funeral took place Sunday afternoon at the Blue Springs Cemetery. Rev. J.H. McDoniel conducted the ceremonies and a large number of people were present to pay a last sad tribute to a departed friend.
