Yes, I would like to have any information that you may have on this line. I know that the Shaws in my line are buried in a graveyard called Fairview near Salem. This graveyard has many of our Shaw , Jones, and McBride family members. It is said to be owned at one time by my family as the land that the old school house where my Dad went to school. It was built by the McBrides for the childen in the family to go to school. It is still standing but is in need of repair. I would be glad to share the little I have on my Shaw line. I do know that John Joseph Shaw was born in Ky. but after that the trail ends for me. So anything you may have would be great. On the Ball line I think its funny because on my Mothers side of the family is a Ball line also. Maybe we are looking for the same familes there also. Let me know a few names and maybe I can connect them to my line. Anyway, I'll be waiting to hear from you. You may contact me at Pizzi2648@msn.com Thanks, Georgia L. Pizzimenti (nee Jones)

    3. (Ca 20 years ago,No Date) LOCAL MAN DIES IN COLLISION NEWPORT--- William Keith Cobb,23, was killed Saturday when the car in which he was riding collided with a grain truck on Highway 14 at the county road 331 southeast of Newport in Jackson County, according to Jerry Nicholson of the Arkansas State Police telecommunication system. The accident occurred at 3:40 p.m. when a 1977 Chevrolet sedan driven by Donald Ray Cargile,23, of Batesville attemped to pass a 1978 International grain truck. Both vehicles were eastbound on Highway 14. The grain truck was making a right turn into county road 331 when the sedan overtook the truck, attempting to pas on the right-hand side, said Nicholson. The sedan "struck the right front of the truck, went off the road, struck a tree" he said. Cargile and passenger Joe Walker, 24, also of batesville, were injured, said Nicholson. they were transported to Harris hospital in Newport and later transferred to the White River Medical Center. Walker was reported in satisfactory condition this morning by a WRMC spokeman. Cargile was released over the weekend. Nicholson said no seat belts were in use in the sedan. The investigating officer was State Trooper Sam Gordon of Newport. Suvivors include his wife, Debbie Tayer* Cobb of the home; his parents, David and Joan Cobb of Batesville; a brother, Michael Cobb of Texas; two sisters, Tanya Cobb and Amanda Cobb of Batesville; and his grandmothers, Mrs. Theda Mae Lewis and Mrs. Ruth Wegert, both of Batesville. Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/an/QV.2ADI/548.1.1.1 Message Board Post: William Blevins, b. May 20, 1853, d. April 12, 1885 (He's buried at Eutopia Cemetery in Sharp County--his tombstone reads Belevens) was the son of Dillard D. Blevins and Elizabeth Martin. According to Dillard's war records and Elizabeth's pension request, William had three siblings who died in infancy-Robert, Margaret Adline and Dillard. He had two sisters that did live to adulthood-Lucinda, who married William Montgomery and Elizabeth, who married John Satterwhite. This Elizabeth Blevins (William's sister) is my direct ancestor-which I didn't know until I started researching my family tree-so my husband and I are about 12th cousins or something like that! Anyway, Dillard died September 7, 1863, according to his pension records from ill health he'd gotten from fighting in the Civil War. Elizabeth Martin Blevins married her daughter Elizabeth's father-in-law, William Satterwhite in 1874. I haven't been able to trace Dillard's father-of course, his name has been listed as Daniel, Dillard, Dillon and Dillion. A Dillion Blevins is in Izard County in 1850, with three women in his household, possibly sisters and his mother, next door to a William Blevins and his family-believed to be Dillard's brother-and a Dilian D. Blevins of Izard County did receive land "the North east Quarter of the North east Quarter of Section 25, in Township 16 N, of Range 8" on June 16, 1856. I believe he is from the Johnson County, TN Blevins', but so far, haven't been able to connect with actual concrete evidence. William and Mary Ann had 5 children-do you have the info on them? Let me know what else you would like to know.

Seward, one of the town's oldest and best known citizens, died at his home her yesterday (Thursday) about 1 o'clock, after a prolonged illness from lung trouble. He was a member of the Christian church and was a good citizens. Newark Journal, June 29, 1906 Mrs. J.D. Seward died at her home in this city Saturday afternoon as a result of injuries received from falling off the porch several days ago. She was 70 years old and was a most estimable Christian lady, having been a member of the Christian church for a number of years. The funeral took place Sunday afternoon at the Blue Springs Cemetery. Rev. J.H. McDoniel conducted the ceremonies and a large number of people were present to pay a last sad tribute to a departed friend.
