He married Mahala Hutson age 15 on 4 Oct 1853 in Independence County. Three children, Mary E., b1854, Millie C., b1859, Hiram Edward, b1857. Apparently John died (or something) as Mahala married Richard Avery on 11 Aug 1859, then he died 1860. Hiram later moved to Texas, married twice, had fourteen kids and he is the grandfather to my wife, Frankie Jo, b1937 daughter of William Presley, b1908. We know very little about ggrandpa John except what is stated above. Any help on finding out more about him or what happened to Mahala and the girls would be appreciated. Thanks....
We are trying to find information regarding John Sherley (unknown dob, pob believed Alabama) who married Mahala Hutson on 4 Oct 1853 in Independence Co, Ark. They had three children, Hiram Edward b 1857, Millie C., b 1859, Mary E., b 1854. Apparently John died in 1859 as Mahala married Richard Avera (Avery) on 11 Aug 1859. Records indicate Richard Avery died in 1860. From this point we can not find either of the girls or Mahala and have no info. Hiram Edward moved to Texas, married twice and had fourteen children.
