    2. Hello: The gentleman you are speaking of passed away a couple of years ago. His memory was remarkable and his office looked like mine. What a wonderful person. I visited with him over 20 years. He claimed he was a historian and did not do family history. The last time I saw him we took a picture. He had told me that is later years his eyes were failing him. Everyone who knew him loved and respected him. I do have a few things on Ind. CO. Let me know a little info and I will try to help; Marian

There's a man who did work for the newspaper who was an absolute wonder at his knowledge of the area. We finally called his phone number and was invited to come to his house. When I told him we had driven around that particular area looking for Ruddell Hill he told me we were there! There's a few houses there on large lots but we didn't see any signs or anything to identify the Ruddell area. I will see if I can find his name and send it to you.

    3. Can anyone help me with the death dates of Abram Lutner and wife Mary who dien in Pleasant Plains Arkansas and are buried there in the cemetery of Pleasant Plains Ar Independence County. I am thinking they deceased inb the 1930's or 1940's. I dont know the name of the cemetery, but I do remember it is in Pleasant Plains. I've also created an index for 1830. 1840 is mostly complete and online at www.rootsweb.com/~arindepe, along with an index. It should be fully completed by tomorrow. I'm working on the last township (White River) now. I've also come across quite a few probate book records, some of them will abstracts, some guardian petitions. LOTS of names, dates of death, widow's names, etc. Oh, I almost forgot, there are now some Independence county marriages online, too. Not a whole lot at present, but we're getting there! As soon as I get the 1840 census completed tomorrow (and quit wandering round the house muttering, "One, zero, zero, zero, one, zero, one...") I will start adding more submissions from site visitors.
