Alma, The Independence Co. Cemetery book just list the mark graves. It is the only one out for Independence and was published in 1980. At one time I thought I read they were going to update the book. Myrvin
Does the book list all graves or just marked graves? I have had one chance to view that book at the Batesville Library and didn't find all the graves I expected. What's the best way to locate an unmarked grave in independence county? Thanks for any help. Lyon College is a good place to research -- but for more local information -- go to the Independence Co. Regional Museum in Batesville. They have a lot of local information and a lot of the tax lists, some of the older probate court records, etc. >From: [email protected] >Reply-To: [email protected] >To: [email protected] >Subject: ARINDEPE-D Digest V01 #28 >Date: Wed, 28 Mar 2001 14:00:04 -0700 > ><< message2.txt >> ><< message4.txt >> ><< message6.txt >> ><< message8.txt >> ><< message10.txt >> ><< message12.txt >> ><< message14.txt >> ><< message16.txt >> ><< message18.txt >> ><< message20.txt >> ><< message22.txt >> ><< message24.txt >> _________________________________________________________________ Get your FREE download of MSN Explorer at http://explorer.msn.com
Ron, Independence Court House I know as Marriage license, wills, property. I believe you would have to send to Little Rock for births. I haven't ever been to Lyons College in Independence but have been told they have a good Genelogy section. Next time I go need to go there. I am always in a hurry as I go for family reunions. Myrvin

Also are vital records (Births, deaths, and marriages) kept at the counties? If so which office keeps them? Thanks, Ron (Conyers, Marlin, Watson, Corbit)
