    1. Re: [AR IND.] 1880 Census
    2. Elmer T. Anderson
    3. Fantastic! Would appreciate if you could check two families, same family name. John W. Anderson and his wife, Ellen C. (Thornton) Anderson John was born during 1853 in Blackriver Township, in or near Cord, Independence Co., AR., son of William and Elizabeth Anderson. John and Ellen were married on July 27, 1879 in "Independence, AR." I assume that means the County of Ind. and not the town. Where they went after the wedding is a mystery. Some records show Cord, AR and others show "Missouri." Ellen had been living in MO from soon after she was born (Feb 29, 1864 in Batesville) until her marriage. Their first born (my grandfather), Marcus D. Anderson, is sometimes shown as "born, 1888, Cord, AR." They eventually ended up in Randolph Co., near Birdell where they lived for many years. One unverified record states "they came from MO during 1893." Thus, the confusion. Am trying to determine if they moved to or stayed in Ind. Co., and, thus, would be on the 1880 census, or if they moved to MO. after the wedding. The other name is John's parents: William and Elizabeth Anderson, plus children. They are on the 1850 census (except John, not yet born) in Blackriver Township and also the 1860 census, including John. It's very possible that William could have died before the 1880 census, but his younger wife would likely still have been alive. Thanks very much. 2. I am forever hopeful that someday there will be more online information about Independence County for those of us who live so far away from there. Other children included Juanita, JW, Estella, Norma Jane, Elvie, and several others. George Albert Lewis married Lena Washburn in Monette, AR. 3. Frank. WOW!!! That's it. That makes it 100% sure. It is hard to believe that within the last few days I have been able to (with a lot of great help from people like you) officially confirm John's date of death, place of burial and, now, the names of his parents, brothers and sisters and where that came from. Amazing! Your next message is about trying to send me a copy of the oversized listing. I would very, very much like to have a copy. Would appreciate if you could print a copy (and, if it's like my printer, fill in the data on the right that does not print) and mail me a copy. I'll be happy to reimburse you for the postage, envelope, etc. My mailing address is: Elmer Thurman Anderson 850 Brookcreek Lane Kirkwood, MO 63122 Am also corresponding with someone that may have common grandparents. His gg grandfather now appears to be one on John's older brothers. Everything matches: Names, dates, ages, etc. When I get your copy, I'll duplicate and send to him. Thanks very, very much. Thurman. 2. Elmer T. Anderson
    3. Does anyone have access to Independence Co. marriage records for the 1858 to 1870 or so time period? My g grandfather, John W. Anderson had an older sister by the name of Fanny or Fannie Anderson. See married a Mr. Miller, probably around 1860. After his death, she married a Mr. Donohoe. Thanks very much. Thurman Anderson

    2. Elmer T. Anderson
    3. Does anyone have access to the 1860 or 1870 census for Blackriver Township, Independence Co.? The 1850 census in online and lists William and Elizabeth Anderson. They are probably the parents of my g grandfather, John W. Anderson. Known children's names match. But, John was not born until about 1854. If there is a "John," about 6 years old listed on the 1860 census, then I have a match (or, about age 16 on the 1970 census). Would appreciate your help. Thanks. Thurman Anderson.
