There should be a historical group in Howard Co and the others too, that might have or know where a city directory could be had. It will probably depend on the size town, here in Hot Springs they have city directories going way back, I am almost positive that there is a group in Polk Co, you might try checking the county websites and see how to contact any historical or genealogical group.
