I understand that Newton Dudley/Douglas Caldwell born January 19, 1841 in Buck Range, AR died December 30, 1918 in Idabel, McCurtain Co., OK and is buried at Philadelphia Cemetery in Goodwater, McCurtain Co., OK was a Justice of the Peace in Hempstead or Howard Co. Can anyone help me with proving this information? His wife Lucy Ann D.Fontaine born August 14, 1848 in Buck Range, AR and died November 21, 1887is buried at Buck Range Cemetery. They had 11 children. I am interested in hearing from anyone researching the Caldwell and Fontaine and Jackson families. I am willing to share any information I have with anyone. Also, I understand that the Post Mistress of Columbus, AR is researching these lines. Her last name is Myers, maiden name, Caldwell I think. Please put me in touch with her or her with me. What can anyone tell me about the Buck Range Cemetery at Mineral Springs? I have 2 people that want to visit it in the next few weeks. One is coming from San Angelo, TX. She needs someone to direct her to it. I understand from my 2 aunts in TX that when they visited there about 7 years ago that it was locked up. There are no roads into it. And that some of the ladies in the community had taken it upon theirselves to write down all of the information on the tombstones. They said there was a Caldwell in the area and he was not very friendly. Has the status on this cemetery changed? What can be done about organizing a team or a committee to clean it up and make it available to the families who want to visit it? Thanks for any suggestions or help that anyone can give me.
