    1. Brownstown Cemetery
    2. John R. Clarke
    3. Good Morning, I have known for years my 2n GGF, Rev, Russell RENEAU, died in a Brownstown but I assumed this was in Brownstown Sevier County, AR, because I did not know there was a Brownstown Cemetery in Howard County, AR until this morning. According to Microsoft Streets and Trips it is located just north of White Cliffs, AR and on the west side of Highway 317. According to the Renesu-Richter Family Bible, Rev. RENEAU died on 1 Sep 1865 and was born on 1 Jun 1807 in Jefferson County, TN. In 1860-1865, Rev. RENEAU was the Presiding Elder of the Clarksville, AR District of the ME Church South. In 18s65 he assumed the ministry of the Clarksville Methodist Church but died that fall. I also know he owned land in the adjacent Hempstead County, AR, so he could have been easily buried in Howard County. I am also looking for the burial place of his son-sin-law, Robert W. DANIEL, Esq ( 1809-1865) who died a few months later in November 1865. Thank you for any assistance you can give me in these matters. John R. Clarke 229-228-1961 2417 N. Can anyone tell me the exact location of the former Mine Creek Baptist Church, which was originally in Hempstead County, then after Howard Co was formed, it was in Howard? Is there a cemetery that belonged to the church?

    1. LISTOWNER Re:Sorry Folks! & Prior Births
    2. Kathy Stokes Hudson
    3. For everyone to know the complaint from the "listowner" did NOT come from me for Sevier and Howard Cos. mailing list. Obviously it was from another listowner of another list. However I did send a private email asking that problems of other lists not be shared on "my" mailing lists as it promotes things such as: > Of all the things to pick out to find not right on here makes me decide > to > unsubscribe to Howard County. As I told one of the many that contacted me that when I read it, had I not known better I would have thought I was the listowner that was mentioned. The email was worded incorrectly and reflected that the list was Sevier or Howard Co. Those of you who know me and have been on my lists long enough know I am not strict with the list as long as it pertains to genealogy in some fashion. But I do not tollerate spams, arguing among listers (keep it between yourselves or contact me directly), or rudeness. But those that know me ... know I will email you privately and give you caution. And only if you persist will I block you from my lists. Genealogy comes in many forms...whether it is mention of names and dates...or "general" comments on doing research. There are many new ones to genealogy that ideas may help them continue their search...or us old ones that may have forgotten something or find an easier way for our search thru someones experience. If there are those that do not like the "general" comments ... delete it...no one gets any more spam mail than I do in a days time and it isn't hard for me to delete (except on a bad day <g>) While I have your attention...while at the National Genealogical Society's Conference in Nashville, TN last week ... the AR Genealogical Society had the new Prior Births ( which contains birth information of over 100,000 people born in Arkansas prior to 1905 ) available. I know the cd with volume 1, 2 & 3 is $15.00 but I don't know the cost of s/h or the price of the books. But you can contact them from their website at http://www.rootsweb.com/~args/ Thank you and good luck in your search! Kathy Stokes Hudson

One more time around Content-Type: text/plain; charset="iso-8859-1" I want to apologize if I have offended anyone with my recent posting of "Strangers in the Box". It seems as though I have been contacted by a list manager that says it has nothing to do with her county. She no longer wishes me to post anything like this on her site. I will abide by her wishes. However, the loss maybe great for her subscribers. This is the only complaint that I have received. I made sure that I had permission from these subscribers to post their ideas before I posted the response to "Strangers in the Box". I have "several, several" people who have thought that these were good ideas. Ideas that they had not thought about. This posting has caused other people to share their ideas of what has worked for them. AND it has caused other people to think about getting this information before it is too late. Furthermore, ideas and positive feedback is still coming in that I haven't shared with anyone. I thought everyone interested in genealogy would like to know how to best preserve their family history. Because once it is gone (documented family pictures), it is gone!!!! And it doesn't make any difference what county we live in or what county our ancestors came from. If anyone out there would like to know the good ideas from others who have responded to this posting, you may email me privately as I do not want to get into trouble with anyone. I don't know why it is you have to come across sour apples from time to time but I guess that is what makes life interesting! It keeps us on our toes. Have a blessed day! Jane Foley NC PS I do collect stories, poems, etc and have all my life on certain subjects. I do have a nice collection genealogy related if anyone is interested in a list you can contact me privately. mjfent@bellsouth.net. I feel that this "trivia" (as some call it) only adds to my family history gives me a better understanding. *************************************************************** I was not offended by the " people in the box " poem and have been preaching the story for years and was really glad to recieve the poem. Of all the things to pick out to find not right on here makes me decide to unsubscribe to Howard County.
