The "V" in my grandather's name stands for "Vance". That is the surname of his mother, Ida May Vance who was married to Hervey Josiah Jackson. There are a lot of Jacksons in Greene and Clay Co AR. in the late 1800s. It is very hard to tell how they are all connected. There is bound to be a connection between our people somewhere...but I have not been able to confirm it. My Hervey J Jackson is probably connected to Henry J Jackson.
