Phil-- I can't really answer your questions except that Powell Twp is in Craighead Co, which was formed in 1859 from parts of Greene, Mississippi, and Poinsett Cos. It is north and slightly east of Jonesboro. I would like to correspond with you (and anyone else interested) about the Ellis family. I am apparently a descendant of William Ellis, brother of Sen. James.
