Hi Everyone I need a big favor if anyone has ideas or anything it is kinda, a long story so I will try my best to explain. A fellow comes up to me at work and tells me his family is needing help. They have been foster parents of some Indian Children and they have adopted them by our courts and laws . But the Indian (Cherokee) Council I think is what he told me has informed them that they have to show proof of their Indian Heritage or they will take the children away and put them back in a home until a approved Indian family will want them for adoption.They have started tracing there family tree trying to find one of the ancestors listed on the Dawes List. They have always been told they had Indian Heritage. But the only proof I understand they will take is that they are listed on the Dawes List .(Or any of the other list showing Indian Heritage ).Below is the Information they have given me to work with . If anyone has any ideas or can help please let me know. They have got a month to come up with proof . I have been trying to research each relative trying to find anything.
