I believe he was born in Redland, OK. His family was from the Ft. Smith area. His father was a Physician named Herman Anthony Rotert and died somewhere in the early to mid 20's, was hit by a car while crossing the street in front of the hospital in Ft. Smith. Alvie was the oldest, also brothers named Atlas, Bill, Jess and sisters named Okla Mae, Maggie and Louise, there are others; but I do not have their names.
