    1. Re: [ARGREENE] Indian Children
    2. I wish there were some way for me to help these people but I have sorta the same brick wall where the rumor of Native American Ancestry is concerned. It is unfortunate that a matter of undocumented racial heritage would deprive children of two loving parents and the security of a stable home. Perhaps if it is well thought out a compromise with the Tribal Members who are the authorities in this case is possible if only to extend the situation into the future until such time that these people can establish their ancestry. Perhaps the Tribal Members would consider appointing someone or even another couple to act as God parents for these children to assure that they learn the culture and heritage the Nation feels is so important. It is certainly more likely for these children to learn what they need to know under such a circumstance rather than being moved from foster home to foster home. Of course the would-be parents would have to agree to abide by the time the children would need to spend with the God parents but that is the way of compromise. While this may only be a band aide to take care of the immediate future, it may give this family a chance to establish themselves to the Nations satisfaction. Perhaps everyone involved would learn something valuable from this kind of relationship. It is great to find the names of unknown ancestors but so much more satisfying to know why your ancestors were. Best wishes to everyone, Linda
