I don't think anyone is responsible except the spammer whoever he or she may be. Usually spam does not make it through to the rootsweb lists because they do a good job of filtering it out. However, somehow dealsdeals made it onto the subscriber list! The mail is now bouncing to the address. The only thing I can figure out is since the word subscribe was in the spam the list software subbed the spammer! Strange indeed. I have now unsubscribed dealsdeals from the list and added them to the reject list. Maybe the spammer had some ancestors in Greene County? Carey Rogers List Manager PS I appreciate everyone's concern but sending messages back to the list won't stop a spammer, it just gums up the list. Send your outraged messages to the spammer's address or to the ISP they are using. -----Original Message----- From: Sandy Hardin <chardin@grnco.net> To: ARGREENE-L@rootsweb.com <ARGREENE-L@rootsweb.com> Date: Thursday, May 25, 2000 8:03 PM Subject: Re: [ARGREENE] The SECRET to MAGAZINE subscriptions >Tina, >I believe you didn't send this email for the FACT that the one I got came >from dealsdeals@bellsouth.net .
