    1. [ARGREENE] Happy Holidays Traditions
    2. Tina Easley
    3. Hi Everyone, I would like to wish everyone a safe and happy holiday. And would like to pass on one of my family traditions to my extended family. All of you. If you have a special tradition that you would like to share please feel free to send to the list. I think this would also be a good tradition to start . Remembering the good ole days are what Christmas and New Years remind me of. Going to my Granny's house early Christmas morning and listening to her sing christmas carols while she is cooking our Christmas feast. With the smells of cinnamon and apples and fresh baked goodies . Grandpa sneaking in and stilling a peice of fudge and when us kids would try it Granny would catch us . All of our kin aunts, uncles, cousins, coming in to share the Christmas spirit and meal and exchange presents. We would all set in the living room after we were stuffed and listen to the older generations tell of Christmas's passed by looking at the ornaments on the tree. .My Great grandmother had started a tradition that we still cherish . She would make each family a homemade christmas ornament something that fitted the year gone by and their family . I remember the year I was baptized that following Christmas Granny made five tiny lace crotched doves one for each member of my family . She told me that the doves were pure and peaceful . Because we were all pure in God's eyes now the last dove had been set free... I still have mine hanging on my tree every year a reminder of my Granny and how dear a woman she was. My daughters and I have cherished the tradition. Each year we go shopping and I let them take there time and choose a special ornament that will remind them of the year that went by and something good that they done within the year. For example my oldest daughter this year learned to play the flute in the school band and the first time she ever played a Christmas Concert for the elderly at the nursing home here . She came home and told me mom they enjoyed us so much and they sang with us . I told her you really done something good to brighten there day . She was so amazed that these people that didn't know them would hug and talk to them liked they knew them forever . We searched high and low till she found the perfect ornament and it was a angel playing a flute. We took their cherished ornament home and put there initial on the bottom and dated it . When they get married and have a family of their own they will have all there memories to take with them. When we put up our christmas tree every year it is amazing when they see there ornaments and they start remembering and telling the precious memories of our Christmas Scrapbook. Merry Christmas Everyone! tina Greene County, Ar. Website http://www.rootsweb.com/~argreene/greenecountyindexpa.htm Come Take a Trip in History !!!!!
