Elaine, I'm interested in this SMITH family as well. It has been reported that Sophia SMITH b.abt 1838 TN, married John R. BOYD, was Standford SMITH's daughter. In addition the SMITH listed on the 1860 Greene County Census living between John BOYD and BOYD siblings [head of house listed as Mary BOYD] I believe to be Sophia's brother and of course, if Standford is Sophia's father would add to your children's list of Standford SMITH. Do you have any history on them? I have a little, and clues to affiliated lines. It appears that these SMITH's and BOYD's probably travelled together from TN between 1855 and 1860. In addition, my David F. BOYD, who is only 5 yrs old on the 1860 Greene County Census winds up by September 1877 in the Searcy/Stone areas. It is a nagging point in my research as to how and why he winds up there. Maybe there is more SMITH/BOYD association to be checked out. Possibly we can collaberate. I'll be here for the remainder of the day, but will be leaving for the weekend and not returning until Monday afternoon. But I'm anxious to coorespond about these SMITH's and BOYD's. Hope the list joins in. :) Robin
