My grandfather J. U. Dacus was born in Fontaine in 1885. In a short autobiographical booklet written in the early 1950's he makes this brief reference: "I was born on the Hill Fontain County Farm.... The Hill Fontain farm has changed hands many times since I was a lad. I understand that William Sloan of Jonesboro, Arkansas now owns it." Max Robinson Fresno, CA
