Hi, Robin. I'll have to get with you next week, because I'm leaving to go to Cola. right now. My son and I are going to a movie and out to eat. I really know nothing about the SMITH's. I was just looking for a Rachel who was that age and was my gg grandmother. Sorry. I didn't realize this was going to the list. I was just in a hurry to answer and thought it was through personal. Now I'll scramble for what little info I do have. I had a Rachel for a grandmother. I had thought that her maiden name was PENDLETON/ PENNELTON because she named one of her sons Jerome Pennelton EUBANKS and then a grandson through her son Drewry Lyman EUBANKS was named Truman Pendleton EUBANKS. I think that some of the earlier children of Chaste C. EUBANKS and Rachel ? were born in Randolph Co., AR, which is where they were in 1870 where Chaste was listed as a female named Charity. (Fun with censuses, right?) The family of Drewry Alvin EUBANKS was in Greene Co., AR in 1860 but in Randolph in 1870. Nearby, was a domestic living in a household by the name of Rachel SMITH. She was the right age to have been my gg grandmother as this one was in 1860. Also, some of the older sisters are listed in the 1860 SMITH household are listed as domestics, so I figured that all the girls were trained for that. My Rachel was b. abt. Sep 1846 according to the 1900 Comanche Co., TX census. They moved to Polk Co., AR after that. My grandfather told me that he thought she had remarried after Chaste's death, but he confused things a lot, so it might not be true. Since I can't find any PENDLETONs nearby, then Rachel SMITH looks promising. I haven't been able to find my g grandfather's death certificate in TX in Jul 1927. Maybe someone in any of these areas knows more.
