No, ages shown are stated on their 1874 Marriage Certificate. This was 2nd marriage for Elizabeth. Prior marriage to Phillip COFFELL who died in Civil War. Haven't been able to verify Elizabeth's maiden name, but she was born in TN according to 1860 Lawrence Co. Census. She listed her age as 20 in 1860. Ages shown are for 1880 census? The only thing that makes that probable is the marriage date. Bd's, even by year, are preferrable. There are RAGSDALEs related to me through my HILL - CAMP line from GA and NC. Sarah HILL m. Edward RAGSDALE. Some of this line went on to Brown Co., TX. Since Sarah was also a d/o John HILL and Annie Naomi CAMP, there could be a tie with my line which is descended from Sarah's sister, Elizabeth (HILL) AWTREY. Debra, Thanks for your response. I am interested in the Bolings who married into the Medlock line. My apologies on Barfield. It should have stated Barwick. I had a Elbert Medlock marry a T. C. Pam, I know there were a passel of Willcocksons in early Greene County who seemed to be concentrated in the Walcott area. In one census--I believe it was 1880 or 1900, I forget which--two Adams males, both about 20, were living in the households of Willcocksons. I believe they were listed as boarders and were farm hands. I've always wondered what the connection was between the Adams and Willcockson families. Do you know? Debra | I am researching Boozer, Pack, Pillow, Willcockson, Johnson, and Snyder in | Greene County. Glad to see lots of activity on this list! | Pam Hargis |
I am searching for Wright, Ledbetter, Allison.
Kim, I think we exchanged emails a few years ago about the Fielder family. Since then have you come across a Betsey Fielder b. abt. 1800 who married David Adams in Williamson Co. TN in 1816? Susannah Fielder, perhaps Betsey's sister, married Daniel Adams--brother of David. Both couples moved on to Lauderdale Co. AL sometime around 1820 and, presumably, Betsey died in Lauderdale Co. in the early 1840s. At least five of David and Betsey's children migrated to Greene County between 1850-60. The Creels, Fielders and Adamses lived near each other in Greene County in 1860 and 1870. I'm still trying to connect my Betsey to one of the Fielders of Greene County.
