This one may be the key if there an obit it may have his mother, father and his gr. mothers name I have been unable to locate there names. Just hoping some one may have old news papers. thank you Ronnie runt@rectec.net

Sorry. I didn't realize this was going to the list. I was just in a hurry to answer and thought it was through personal. Now I'll scramble for what little info I do have. I had a Rachel for a grandmother. I had thought that her maiden name was PENDLETON/ PENNELTON because she named one of her sons Jerome Pennelton EUBANKS and then a grandson through her son Drewry Lyman EUBANKS was named Truman Pendleton EUBANKS. I think that some of the earlier children of Chaste C. EUBANKS and Rachel ? were born in Randolph Co., AR, which is where they were in 1870 where Chaste was listed as a female named Charity. (Fun with censuses, right?) The family of Drewry Alvin EUBANKS was in Greene Co., AR in 1860 but in Randolph in 1870. Nearby, was a domestic living in a household by the name of Rachel SMITH. She was the right age to have been my gg grandmother as this one was in 1860. Also, some of the older sisters are listed in the 1860 SMITH household are listed as domestics, so I figured that all the girls were trained for that. My Rachel was b. abt. Sep 1846 according to the 1900 Comanche Co., TX census. They moved to Polk Co., AR after that. My grandfather told me that he thought she had remarried after Chaste's death, but he confused things a lot, so it might not be true. Since I can't find any PENDLETONs nearby, then Rachel SMITH looks promising. I haven't been able to find my g grandfather's death certificate in TX in Jul 1927. Maybe someone in any of these areas knows more. Hi, Robin. I'll have to get with you next week, because I'm leaving to go to Cola. right now. My son and I are going to a movie and out to eat. I really know nothing about the SMITH's. I was just looking for a Rachel who was that age and was my gg grandmother. Elaine, I'm interested in this SMITH family as well. It has been reported that Sophia SMITH b.abt 1838 TN, married John R. BOYD, was Standford SMITH's daughter. In addition the SMITH listed on the 1860 Greene County Census living between John BOYD and BOYD siblings [head of house listed as Mary BOYD] I believe to be Sophia's brother and of course, if Standford is Sophia's father would add to your children's list of Standford SMITH. Do you have any history on them? I have a little, and clues to affiliated lines. It appears that these SMITH's and BOYD's probably travelled together from TN between 1855 and 1860. In addition, my David F. BOYD, who is only 5 yrs old on the 1860 Greene County Census winds up by September 1877 in the Searcy/Stone areas. It is a nagging point in my research as to how and why he winds up there. Maybe there is more SMITH/BOYD association to be checked out. Possibly we can collaberate. I'll be here for the remainder of the day, but will be leaving for the weekend and not returning until Monday afternoon. But I'm anxious to coorespond about these SMITH's and BOYD's. Hope the list joins in. :) Robin

Posted on: Greene County, Ar Query Forum Board URL: http://cgi.rootsweb.com/~genbbs/genbbs.cgi/USA/Ar/Greene?read=822 Surname: PRINCE ------------------------- There is no Cotton Belt Cemetery listed on the Greene County page. I would guess that Clark Cemetery is closest to the Cotton Belt Community, as I remember it. Cotton Belt was northeast of Paragould near the old Cotton Belt Railroad line. Looking at the cemetery index at http://www.rootsweb.com/~argreene/cemp.htm I see four or five PRINCEs buried at Clark Cemetery, one named "J.E." who might be the person you seek. Good luck!

His grandparents may have been Mathew H SIMS and Mary B GUEST from TN (haven't proven this yet.
When I was a youngster, growing up at Schugtown in the extreme northeast corner of Craighead County (the northern boundary of our farm joined the Greene County line), our family attended Schugtown Methodist Church. Our church shared a pastor with other Methodist Churches at Bard, Morning Star and, I think, Griffin Memorial, all in Greene County. I believe Morning Star was in the southeastern part of the county, near the Coffman Community, not far from the St. Francis River.
