    3. Posted on: Greene County, Ar Query Forum Board URL: http://cgi.rootsweb.com/~genbbs/genbbs.cgi/USA/Ar/Greene?read=838 Surname: Harpole, bell, Doe ------------------------- Well there I go being a dope again! I know better than that. Cora was born abt. 1878 in Kentucky. Family lore is that she married 5 different men and burried all of them. I don't know if this is true or legend. I have a duplicate birth certificate with her signature on it. In 1944 she was aprox. 64 years old. Her signature is illegible. It could be Joney or Soney her married name at the time. Her first and middle name was listed as Cora Bell (Joney, Soney). I know that double names were popular in the south so not sure if Bell is a middle name or perhaps a maiden name. While she was married to a Harpole her daughter Nellie was born. Nellie was born in 1902 in Kentucky and died in 1937 in Paragould. Charles Doe, Nellies husband was born in 1880 in Texas. He is also claimed to have had to leave Texas for unknown reasons and maybe took on the Doe Surname. He is claimed to have had a family in Texas before coming to Arkansas. He died March 1, 1937 in Paragould. They are both burried in Green county namely Paragould in the Shilo Cemetery. I have a family photo that I can share with you via direct email. I don't know what your policy as to attachments are but mine is I don't open attachments unless I know they are coming. Regards Randall W. Chinn

I don't know if any of them may be relatives of Cora from Greene Co. but I do know there family was very large. It might help if you had dates. The Harpole family we finally found was from the early 1900's, maybe Cora could have been a sister or grandparent. Let me know the dates and I will ask about Cora's name in the meantime. 2. Hi Janice, Good to hear from you. Do you think that Mary Jane SMITH was one of STANFORD SMITH's children? Or are you just trying to target a local in TN? It was presumed that Sophia Ann SMITH and John R. BOYD married in AR. However I found mention of their marriage on February 2, 1854 in Cannon County, TN. This opened up a whole lot of speghetti-type records for me. It seems that some SMITH's came to NC to what would eventually become TN. Try Knox County around 1800 and then a little later the middle TN counties; Cannon, Wilson, Davidson, Macon, Smith, etc. Let me know what you have and come up with. Some of the names on the photos were: J. R. Standley and family Daughters of J. R. Standley Emma Standley Travis Crain Wesley Crain Gladys Crain These were printed on post cards, and several were dated 1916. I am sure the photos were taken at the same time since the same backgrounds appear in the photos. There were also several photos that were not marked. Clara's parents were Martin Crane/Crain and Martha Stanley/Standley. They married in 1910 in Greene County. Martin died in 1921. I have scanned these photos. If anyone is interested in the photos, or has any information about the people listed above, please contact me. Thank you. Teresa McGowin Wauchula, FL
