Hi, I wanted to tell everybody we're getting the 1920 Greene county census posted. So far we have Blue Cane, Lake and Breckenridge Townships http://www.rootsweb.com/~argreene/1920census.htm Sandy Hardin Greene County Rootsweb http://www.rootsweb.com/~argreene/greene1.html
Cary - I transcribed the 1860 Craighead CO, AR census a few years ago before they had templates. I gave it to Bill Couch for his pages: http://www.couchgenweb.com/craighead/powell.htm and to the Craighead USGenWeb site: http://www.pastracks.com/states/arkansas/craighead/craig1860a.htm In both places Joseph [clearly says BRANDON] and family are found on page 8 of Powell Township. Carey, I do not find Joseph and Mary in the 1860 census. I've check every combination of letters I can think of and have looked through several townships in their entireties without luck. Here is the listing for Mary and family for 1870. St. Francis Township, 22 Jun 1870, p. 317A, household 5/5: BRANNON, Mary, 55, widow, TN Nancey, 25, TN Margarett E., 22, TN Wm. A., 21, farm laborer, personal property $150, TN Joseph F., 18, farm laborer, TN I did, however, find this family in Powell Township of Craighead County in 1860 but the page number is not included on the transcript: Household 56/56: BRANDON, Joseph, 52, farmer, personal property $95, TN Mary, 44, TN Nancy, 18, TN Margaret, 16, TN William, 9, TN Joel, 7, TN Hope this helps. There are so many counties around there, Clay, Lawrence, mabey I can send a message to their site. I am so proud of the folks in Ar. everyone is so very nice, and helpful, when they can be. I am proud to say I was born there, even tho, I have lived in Tx. for 56 yrs. I am still wanting to come back and look over my beginning roots. -----Original Message----- From: Sandy Hardin <chardin@grnco.net> To: ARGREENE-L@rootsweb.com <ARGREENE-L@rootsweb.com> Date: Tuesday, August 15, 2000 12:01 AM Subject: Re: [ARGREENE] Fw: Starr Family >Allan, >I couldn't find them either on my marriage records and they go back to the >late 1800's have you tried Clay county? Hi Sandy, Thank's so much for your quick response, and offer to help. I have looked on the site for Bride, and Grooom, and can't get them to come up, don't know why, it they are finished, anyway my Mother's name was Mary Eve Ferrell, My Dad's name Thomas Adam Starr, I think they were married around 1920-21, or close to that time, I do hope you can find them for me, then I can see about getting a copy. It has been a long time, but I am almost sure she said Delaplaine, was where it took place. We lived in Walnut Ridge, and I was born in Pocahontas, we moved to Tx. from Walnut Ridge, when I was 5 yrs. old, I do want to come back and visit as soon as I can, but don't know when, I think it would be great. Thank You Again Very Much.
