Ronnie Thanks for the look up in the 1920 census. If the Jim BOYKIN you found was a Black male he is not in my line. My DANIEL would have had a BOYKIN mother-in-law. I think I need to try Craighead Co. next. Phil Di Matteo
Hello Everyone I'm working on another new project but you all , will have to be patient with me . There is 6 Volumes of Soldiers and Sailors located in the New Courthouse each book contains around 500 pages two soldiers or sailors per page they start around 1917 they have every serviceman or woman that was from Greene Co.(what I was told) I'm scanning the actually document and posting it on the site so they will be slow loading but well worth the wait.If you would like to see a couple I have started the link is below. http://www.rootsweb.com/~argreene/soldiersandsailorste.htm Enjoy tina Tina Easley surnames:Morton, Easley, Lambert,Gladish, Reddick, Marsh, Coggins, Reaves, Lenderman Greene County Arkansas http://www.rootsweb.com/~argreene/greene1.html Come Take A Trip in History!!!

Sorry to jump into the middle of this but I saw you mention that there are 2 Vinson families in the 1920 Census for Green Co. I'm looking for a Charles M. Vinson and his wife Eliza. These 2 I know were in the county in 1922. Are these 2 people in the 1920 census? Also looking for a William F. Wesley that might be living with them, he is not married. Hello to all, I want to first thank and commend Tina and her partner for all of the effort that they have had in creating their Web page and their generousity in sharing it with the world at no charge. Also in being so kind and helpful when ever the opportunity presents itself. (of course this is where I'm going to get a little selfish) You are doing an outstanding job, and I for one am thankful for your efforts everytime I source your Page, open a Greene County mail, or think about Greene County for that matter. We are all SO lucky to have you. Thank you!! Now, on to my selfish request. :) Among my surname interests in Greene County is BOYD. On the 1860 Greene County census there is a family of BOYD, head of household Mary [no age or place of birth] with several children, ranging in age from 26ish to 5. Two of these boys' occupation appears to be listed as 'mail carrier'. How can I find out more information on mail carrier's in Greene County at that time period? Were any records kept? Were they paid? If so by whom? Any suggestions will be most welcome! :) The BOYD's that I'm looking at, with a keen and scrutinous eye, are: Mary BOYD b. abt 1811 TN John R. BOYD b.abt1833TN d.abt 1867-69 m.Sophia SMITH b.abt 1838 TN William P.(Pinkney) C. BOYD b.abt 1834 TN Mary BOYD b.abt 1838 TN Andrew J. BOYD b.abt 1840 [I believe Killed in Action in GA in Civil War 7/22/1864] Francis M. BOYD b.abt1842 George W. BOYD b.abt 1844 Martin W. BOYD b.1846 TN d.1885 Greene Co AR m.Martha Jane McMILLAN b.1842 SC d.1911 Green Co AR Paul Whitfield BOYD b.1848 TN d.1909 Paragould, AR m. Nancy Ann CLARK b.1846 AR d.1928 Paragould, AR David F.L. BOYD b.1855 TN d.1933 OK*********** These guys came from Macon County TN between 1855 and 1860. Their father was with them when they came, but died shortly after their arrival. John, William and Andrew all served in the Confederate Service during the Civil War. I believe that Francis did as well, and possibly George. Looking forward to any information or suggestions you may have regarding the Mail Carrier question. Thank you for your time. Robin J.

Everyone, While I was in Mounds, Okla. looking for Chaste Eubanks' grave site a few weeks ago (I had seen Chaste's one line death notice in the Mena Star weekly newspaper 'personals' column that he died in Mounds, Okla. on Jan. 4th, 1924) I visited the nearby Mounds city cemetery. I had earlier mapped out several 'local' cemeteries (within a 15 mile circle of Mounds) in the region as a backup to the Mounds Cemetery. The Mounds Cemetery was a nice, well kept, grassed, medium sized cemetery. Walking through the oldest section (I had graded the cemetery by grave stone appearance) I noticed several grave markers dated around the late 1800s and early 1900s. I soon realized it would take a lucky break if I was going to find Chaste's grave (at that time I wasn't sure if he was buried at this cemetery), and beside this it was a HOT day (107 degrees and with a noon time sun). I told Max (my son) that we should run into town (pop. of 600) to see if we could dig up some local information on Chaste's whereabouts. At the Municipal Office, I talked to the town secretary about what I was trying to do, and after she was convinced that I wasn't some out-of-towner looking to settle a grudge, gave me the names of two local people who were very knowledgeable about the nearby cemeteries. Noticing that there were several unused phones behind her desk, I asked her where I could find a pay phone to make the calls to the two people. She told me there was one at the market down the street and another in the opposite direction at the town bank. Thanking her for the names and numbers, I left the air conditioned comfort of the office for the HOT sun waiting for me outside (Max had decided to remain in the car with the windows down). I wasn't able to find the market (actually was two additional block further than I went while looking) and the bank had recently removed the phone since it wasn't being used enough). I decided to go inside the bank to find if they knew of a pay phone where I could make a few local calls. Success! The smiling woman behind t person was not home (I left a message). The second person named L.O. was home. I told LO about I what I was looking for and he spent fifteen minutes looking at his notes for the Mounds Cemetery, the next farther Twin Mounds Cemetery. No Luck... There was no sign of a C.C. Eubanks being buried in any of the local cemeteries. LO mentioned that Chaste could have been buried in someone's family cemetery which would make it tough trying to locate the grave. After thanking LO for his help, Max and I headed for the nearby county seat to look further (with no luck). Looks like the grave was right under my nose after all.
