    3. Would anyone know when Collier township, in southern Greene County, was formed? It was formed from St. Francis township. Collier does not exist in the 1910 U.S. census, and it does exist in the 1920 U.S. census. Does anyone have a more specific date for the creation of Collier township? -Steve

    3. Kim, thank you very much. I'm the one indexing the 1880 census and I'm trying to compare it to the 1870 and the 1880 School Districts, but some of the names really have me baffled. I appreciate any corrections anyone can send. I'll update the list and send to Tina again. 3. Hi Carey, There was also a Garland Sutkin who married Normia P. Craft in 1915 in Craighead Co. Maybe the same one. Garland may also be listed twice in the 1900 Census; with the family he was working for and with his mother and stepfather. In addition to the listing with the Gibson family, he is also listed 1900 Greene Co., Clarke Township, Page 338B, Dwelling No. 478, Family No. 497. Wm. Pickett - Head Virginia F. - Wife - Feb 1855 - 45 - TN-TN-TN Garland - Stepson - Nov 1882 - 17-TN-AR-TN Goldie L. - Dau. (Goldie was also a step-dau. but still a half-sister to Garland) Beatrice - Dau Annie I. - Dau. His mother, Virginia was married at least 3 times: Sutkin S. P. Ledbetter (married 1883 to Virginia F. Sulfur (sic) (Sulfin)) William J. Pickett (married to Jennie F. Ledbetter 1890 in Craighead Co., Book D. Craighead Co. Marriage Records, Page 360. Sutkin is not one of my lines. Garland was half-brother to Goldie L. Ledbetter who was married to one of my great-uncles. I did the look up for a great-grandson of Goldie who has no knowledge of the Sutkin except that Goldie was remembered as telling some of them that she had a half-brother named Garland Sutkin and they lived around Brookland when they were growing up. Do you know who the father of John H. Jackson was? My Jacksons descend from Alvin Washington (Dick) Jackson who lived & raised his family there for basically his whole life. I can't find anything else about him. He had a bunch of sons, I DON'T think John H. was one of them, it doens't look familier. But I"m wondering if perhaps there may be a connection. Let me know. 3. Hello Cary/Beth, My grandmother remarried a Johnson and they had two children. One was Walter Johnson. Walter had a sister named Edith. Walter moved to Arizona as a young man. Our family had lost track of him. My grandmother's name was Verdie Summers Foresythe Johnson. Walter Johnson was the son of Isom and Verdie Foresythe Johnson. The only item Walter got when his mother died was the family bible. I'm sure this is the same Walter. I talked to my Aunt tonight, Walter's half-sister) who is 87 years and she had always wonder whatever happen to the family bible. She got really excited. I would gladly pay the postage or an other expenses for this bible. Please contact me. It obviously has family info inside but is awfully battered up. If you are a descendant or know of some or other family members, The info should be posted on the Someone's Links pages but if you do not find it, I will be glad to post the message I have received to your list. Just let me know if you don't find the info about the Bible posted. The individual that found the Bible will return it to family members for the cost of postage and handling. Thanks!
