So her death certificate was based on her own words. When her sister Elsie Dodson Pollard Wilson Stone Charry died in 1962 , her daughter had never met John and Mary Miller, Mary died the year she was born 1931 and John Miller in 1933. They died in Cardwell Mo. It has been a very hard family to trace, My Granny married 8 times her sister four. Their parents (mother) Julia A. Burton Dodson died in 1898 they year Elsie was born their father Calvin died in 1900/01. I have never found his family lines. Julia's came out of Hamilton Co Ill, and Jefferson co. So it is a very slow process. Jennie Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list. But thank you, that it a good idea since they are so close. And I see what you are saying about family information. When it comes to legal forms it all depends who is filling them out. My grandmother Mary Ellen Hart knew who parents names I believe. The trouble is the time line... If only someone had pursued the matter in an earlier year. Although I do believe with all the internet information being circulated it will be known one day. Just hope I am still around to see it. Thanks for responding.. When I was very much younger , There was some Hart's that came to Michigan who were said to be kin to my father but I never knew how, My dad Ethridge Morris was born to Gus Morris and Ellen Dodson. Gus was born in Princeton Ky (Caldwell co) Ellen was born in Hornersville Mo Dunklin co. Ellen had one sister Elsie, their parents died when they were very young so a John and Mary (Hutchens) Miller raised them. Ellen's death certificate said father Cal Dodson mother Julia Burton, Elsie's death certificate said father John Dodson mother Mary Lambert. I know that Ellen's death certificate was correct, it was from her own record at the T.B. Hospital what she told them. Elsie on the other hand was took from her daughters words. I asked her daughter , who was the parents she said that she did not know, she knew John and Mary raised them so she assumed. I never did figure out how or where she got the Lambert name. I also know Greene Co Arkansas (Paragould) is only a few miles from Dunklin co Missouri. Have you looked at the Missouri state archives on line? That may help you. 3. Does anyone have a city directory or something that would list old businesses and look for a blacksmith named "Monk" Brannon who was in Paragould in the 1930's? My dad remembers taking horses to him for shoeing. He may have been a Baptist preacher. His shop was around 2nd and Highland.

He lives next door to Joel Branon, (b. 1852 Ark) in 1880 in Greene County. William may be a son of Joseph Brannon who is in Greene County in 1860. He received a Confederate pension about 1908. His pension papers say he served in Co B 13th Regiment Arkansas Cavalry from 1862 to 1865. The witnesses for his pension were J.M. Huddleston and John O'Steen who said they had known him for 45 years. They may have served with him in the war. Huddleston and William Brannon were pall bearers at the funeral of Professor R.S. Thompson "an old soldier". I think he started Thompson's Classical Institute in Paragould. Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list. 1. [ARGREENE] J.M. Huddleston and John O'Steen and William Brannon
    2. Carey Rogers
    3. I'm looking for information on William Brannon who may (or may not) have been related to my ggg grandfather James Riley Brannon. They both lived in Greene County around the turn of the century. William received a Confederate Veterans pension for service in Co B of the 13th Ark Cavalry (which I can't find). The two witnesses were J.M Huddleston and John O'Steen who claimed they had known him for 45 years. They may have served in the same unit. Does anyone have information on either of these three men? I found a reference to Brannon and Huddleston as pall bearers at the funeral of Professor R.S. Thompson of the Thompson's Classical Institute who was described as an "old soldier". I think William's father was Joseph Brannon and they were in NEA in 1860. Carey Rogers
