I just wish I knew who he was. Based on the Francis Marion Mariott Bible, F. M. and Susie married on 27 January 1870 and I have never heard anything to make me believe that either one had previously been married. This is backed up by the 1900 census where it states that F. M. and Susie have been married 30 years and she is the mother of 12 children, 8 still living. According to my records, John J. Mariott was their firstborn. He was born on November 30, 1870 and died as a baby. Those 12 children would be: John J., George W., Lela (my great grandmother), Timothy, Mary Luraney Matilda, Minttie, Lucy Mary Jane, Dulcena, Jessie W., James M., Eliza, and Arch G.
