Hi Rani! Do you know if the company kept back issues from the earlier days? Or if those issues were microfilmed? I know that the Arkansas History Commission has microfilm of some newspapers around the state, but I have no idea how complete their collection is. -- Robert W. A little bit more history of the Salem Headlight... My Dad, Gary Clayton, joined the staff of the Salem Headlight in January 1966. Several years later, he and Jack Cochran of Salem formed Areawide Media, Inc. The News officially began publication on Sept. 4, 1980. It replaced the Salem Headlight, Mammoth Spring Democrat, and Sharp County Record. Gary Clayton served as publisher and president of Areawide Media until it was purchased by Cordell Publications, Ltd., in March of 1989, and stayed on with them as publisher and chief operating officer until August 1990. Just a bit of history for those interested.... Rani
