Hi Karyln! Not all courthouse fires had to do with the WBTS. Granted that many were burned during that period, many fires had nothing to do with that period of violence. Rather they were mostly a consequence of wood stoves or open fireplaces used for heating wooden buildings. Modern construction of fireproof materials and improved methods of heating greatly reduced the dangers of fire, but in the meantime records were lost just about every time one of those older buildings burned. -- Robert W.
