Gene, I would greatly appreciate if you could take a picture of my ggfather Larkin Wesley Hunt's grave in Moody. He lived at the end of his life in Arkansas just across the border of Missouri. He was born in Louisana, Pike co, Mo in 1836. He married Berthe de Guentz in 1876. She leaved the USA and returned to Belgium were I live today. Larkin died in 1934, april 15. He spent his last days in the family Cameron who didn't know he had descendants. West Plains Weekly Quill related his dead in his edition of April 19, 1934. Thanks in advance for what you possibly can do for me. Louise-Marie Hunt Belgium.
Hello, Louise-Marie I saw your email and took the liberty of checking the Moody, MO, cemetery in the Howell County, Missouri, cemetery book published in 1988 by the South Central Missouri Genealogy Society. Larkin Wesley Hunt is not listed in the Moody, MO, cemetery (which is not far from the Arkansas line and holds many of my family's ancestors). There is a Dr. Hunt there, but no dates. However, this is what I find in the Oak Lawn Cemetery in the city of West Plains, Missouri: Hunt, Larkin W. 1 Jul 1864 - 2 Oct 1941 Hunt, Loretta 8 Jan 1889 - 12 Feb 1966 Hunt, Infant 25 Oct 1894 - 28 Nov 1894 (son of L.W. & Irene) Hunt, James T. 15 Sep 1833 - 24 Feb 1902 Hunt, Martha L. 16 Dec 1831 - 18 Sug 1820 Hunt Lee 18 Jun 1868 - 24 Dec 1885 Perhaps some of these are relatives of the Larkin Wesley Hunt you are looking for. And perhaps he is in the Moody cemetery, but not in the cemetery book. Mistakes do happen.
