Dear List Friends, Would anyone have any knowledge of the John and Mary Pugh family in the area of Baxter, Izard, Sharp, Fulton, and Marion counties? I only have two pieces of information about them. One is the 1850 Fulton County census and the other is the fact that William Pugh, a son I believe, married Elizabeth D. Hutcheson, daughter of Richard C. and Nancy Isabella Wolf Hutcheson. I believe the marriage took place around 1841 and there were five children born before William must have died by the time the 1850 census was taken. Elizabeth Hutcheson Pugh and her children are shown in the John and Mary Pugh household for that 1850 census taken in Fulton County. I have no knowledge of Cynthia Jane Pugh or Joseph Pugh or the mother and father after the 1850 date. Elizabeth Hutcheson Pugh is later in life shown living in the household of her father Richard Hutcheson. I believe that William, Joseph, and Cynthia Jane Pugh were born in Indiana or some state other than AR. The father John Pugh was shown to be born in SC. Elizabeth Hutcherson Pugh, widow of William Pugh, raised her children in the four county area and the daughters Amy, Margaret, Jane, and Nancy can be somewhat traced. Margaret Pugh married James Madison Cinkenbeard. Nancy Eveline Pugh married William Thomas Evans. I have nothing on the daughter Jane Pugh and the son William H. Pugh, born in 1849, cannot be traced by me, as of yet. Elizabeth is found living with a daughter, Mrs. Archibald (Amy) Anderson, in Marion County when she was 75. If anyone can help me trace these people I would greatly appreciate it. Respectyfully, Dorothy Boynton
