I see that the Arkansas death certificates were not issued until after 1914 or so. I was told by my great uncle before his death last year, that his grandfather, William H. Wright had died when he was riding his horse through the woods and was attacked by robbers. I don't know if he fell from his horse and died as a result or was shot, etc. I don't know precisely when or where that would have happened. I had tried once before to order a death certificate from the state and they came back with no results. William was still alive in Fulton County for the 1910 census. Can anyone suggest where else I might find about his death? Would the county courthouse hold such records, or would there be a newspaper archive somewhere that might have that story? Thank you in advance for any guidance you can provide. Sherry Quade
