I am looking for information in reference to a Rev. Ben H. Hunt, who supposedly signed a marriage license in 1945 in Fulton County, and shows that his credentials are on file in Independence County, AR. Hopefully someone will have knowledge of this person, if he lived in Fulton County at this time, and other information about him, his family, etc. Thanks, Bill Blevins __________________________________ Do you Yahoo!? If you have not visited the Arkansas Cemeteries Website which goes hand in hand with the AR-CEMETERIES Mailing List lately, you should. Charlie is always in the process of adding new cemeteries. http://www.rootsweb.com/~arcemete/arcem.htm If you have surveyed an Arkansas cemetery or have a link to an Arkansas cemetery you have surveyed we would love to add your information to the Arkansas Cemeteries Website. Please let us know. Our goal for this site is for it to continue to become a valuable resource for those searching for their ancestors in Arkansas. Kathleen Burnett List Mom
List Mom, If I wanted to find out about my Great Great Grandfather who was a lawyer in Salem around the turn of the century, what would be the best way to go about it? His name was W. C. Singleton, a very interesting character. I know next to nothing about him as a lawyer, the census only ever shows him as a farmer. His wife died in 1909 and he remarried in 1911 at age 64 and had another daughter. He lived in Cleveland Twp. -Mark Vernon Seattle, WA
Jim and Judy, Hi cuz. I stay out of touch lately (job hunting). So all responses from me are less than timely. Monroe Oates Montgomery: wasn't he the one also called "Uncle Double Thumb" for obvious reasons. Mom's gone to KY will ask her about him and Virginia next week. My FTM's are down indefinately due to my "Sweetie" tinkering again. Will get back when I have something. Love, Marsha
Dear List Members, I just ran across an interesting Website, "Courthouse Experiences" http://www.bcpl.net/~dmg/courthouse.htm Not every county is listed, but the ones listed gave helpful information regarding the attitudes of those working in the courthouses. I might suggest that if you have had a positive or negative courthouse experience you add them to this site. I now know how to prepare myself for several courthouses I want to visit later this year. Do you live in the county? I have been told a woman by the name of Frieda Dodge died on Tuesday. I think that is her name. She is the second wife of Asa Dodge. Can anyone look for the obituary for me? I can't locate an online newspaper for Fulton Co. I am not for sure she lived in Fulton Co., but thought it might appear there since they had lived there some time back. Thanks. I am looking for any information on the following names. Edward Ralph Thompson, wife Mollie, children: Freddie, Vernie, Carl, and Alvin, Cyrus B. Thompson (Edward's father) and Sarah E. Thompson (Edward's mother). I have the date of Edward and Mollie's marriage, and the 1900 - 1930 U.S. Census in Mammoth Spring, AR. I don't know where any of them are now. If anyone knows anything about any of these people, I would truly appreciate it. Missy

Hi Dale, Jim's grandfather William Ignatious Montgomery moved quite often. Born in Morriston, Fulton County, AR, he taught singing. He went to Oklahoma for a time, working in the oilfields. He and his wife had three small children and a set of newborn twins. He went before her, and then sent for her and the kids. One of the babies got sick and died out there. Then he and his family moved to Manila where he had a mink farm. Then the bunch started buying up land along the Mississippi, cleared it for plantiing and then moving farther down the river. The farthest south they lived at was Lake Village, and some of Jim's relatives still live there. Some moved back to the hills, like Calico Rock, Pangburn and Wilburn. Others moved back to Marked Tree. He has a cousin in Trumann and one in Payneway, (formally Harrisburg Corners). Jim is related to Joseph Wiley through his grgrgrandfather Samuel who was Joseph's brother. No, he is not directly related to the Estes family. But, he thinks he is probably connected somehow to just about everyone in that area. Judie Montgomery
