I talk to a lady this morning who's brother goes to the Morriston Church of Christ. She said they didn't have a Minister, they only had Sunday School. They haven't had a Minister for some time. The Church is getting really small. I talked to Paula's Uncle Noel and he said there was not any earlier record kept for church. There was one man that took care of everything and if he keep records no one know where they would be. Couldn't remember what you were wanting to know while I was talking to him but it was your Grandma Sophronia, is that right. I can call him back and see if he remember anything on that family that might help you. Morn in Cuz Pattie Thanks for getting back to us on the Morriston Arkansas Church of Christ. I just got to thinking with daddy being born in Morriston and spending his early years there. Dear LIst Members, I have learned that there was yet another Yokum daughter that was married to someone on the White River in 1820, or 1821, named Ruby Yoakum. She would have been born between 1795-1805, probably Tennessee, or even Illinos. If you have any family from there with a mother/wife Ruby that has not been identified (surname), let me know and I will check her out to see if she is this Ruby Yoakum. We think maybe we have identified Sarah Yoakum as wife of Asa McFelch and Frances "Fanny" Yoakum as wife of Simeon Talburt, Anna Yoakum as wife of William Smith as daughters of Jacob Yoakum who came to White River in early 1800s. This Ruby Yoakum could possibly be a sister but at present we do not know who she married. This is a proposed family for Jacob Yoakum with wife Sarah Unknown: Please do NOT take it to be factual. We understand that other Yaokum family members have a different family tree established. This is just our best educated guess at this time. We believe this is the Jacob Yoakum is the one Schoolcraft mentioned in his writing. If you have any information for me to research, please send it along. Respectfully, Dorothy Boynton Marriage: Abt. 1797 Children of JACOB YOAKUM and SARAH WIFE are: 4. i. JACOB4 YOAKUM, b. 1798, TN; d. Bef. 1849. 5. ii. ANNA YOAKUM, b. 10 May 1799, TN. 6. iii. Hi Arlie, Is your name Arlie Sipe? If so, is it your maiden or married name? My Great Uncle Oliver White married a Hiley Sipe and I have not been able to find any thing on her except her mother was Rebecca, she was in the 1900 census in Missouri living with Oliver and Hiley. Would have any information on the name Sipe? Hi Dorothy, I have some information on Wilson H Hubble. I will pull him up and send you what I have. He married my husbands "I think of hand Great grandmother" she was a Colley and married a Pierce. ----- Original Message ----- From: Dorothy Boynton<mailto:dbton@yahoo.com> To: ARFULTON-L@rootsweb.com<mailto:ARFULTON-L@rootsweb.com> Sent: Thursday, January 27, 2005 12:36 PM Subject: [ARFULTON] W.H. Am very interested in the Asa McFeltch Hubble b ca 1835. For many years I had thought this was Asa McFelch son of Asa and Sarah Yoakum McFelch, serving out of home. But lately have decided that this census shows his name to be Asa McFeltch Hubble and NOT Asa McFeltch. Thus the only explanation I can come up with is that Wilson Hubble married Asa McFeltch/Melch's daughter and then named her son after her father. Studying the census it appears that Wilson Hubble had three marriages. As the children show that their mother's was born in different states and the age of the last wife was too young to be the mother of several of the children. It could be possible that Wilson and Unnamed McFelch Hubble were the parents of Rhoda Hubble, John Hubble, Asa McFeltch Hubble, Cynthia Jane Hubble and Nancy Evline Hubble. If you are a descendant of any of these people and could shed some light on who the mother was, please contact me. The census information from his oldest son, Jackson, indicates that his mother (Jackson's) was born in NC. Asa, and John (twin to Rhoda) both list their's as having been born AR. Hubble's wife in 1850, Elizabeth, was 29, or born ca 1821, and obviously not old enough to have been the mother of Rhoda, John, and Asa McFeltch, but would have been 19 at the birth of Cynthia, (but as Cynthia was already born in 1840, and the "wife". or oldest female in 1840 was born before 1820, then I suspect that Cynthia also was a child of the wife before Elizabeth). We know that Asa McFelch and wife Sarah Yoakum were married by 1815 and living in the same area. The couple had a daughter Malinda McFelch born in 1816 who married George Washington Wolf. The next child that we know of born to the couple was Ann Jane McFelch born 1824 and married to James M. Wolf. There could have been children bron between 1816 and 1824 that we do NOT know of that would fit the age bracket necessary to have been the wife of Wilson Hubble. Would be very appreciative of any help you could provide me. I need assistance in trying to document the fact that Frances "Fanny" Yoakum wife of Simeon Talburt and Sarah Yoakum wife of Asa McFelch were sisters and daughters of a Jacob Yoakum who was in the Arkansas area in early 1800s. If you are a descendant from either and have information as to who the parents of either might have been, please share the data with me. If you have any clues that I might research I would welcome the ideas. I realize that the spelling of all of the names could be slightly different but believe the females were at least from the same family if not direct line. We now know that the birth states for the two Yoakum females match census records for where a Jacob Yoakum was living and paid taxes during the time frame for the birth of daughters belonging to him. We just do not know if these two people, Frances "Fanny" and Sarah were those daughters. We also now know that Asa McFelch was born as Asa Felch and changed his name when he paid taxes out of state and then moved to the AR territory. Any clue would be welcomed and I can share what data I find. Dorothy Boynton

After discovering that John Evan Thompson, grandson of Phoebe Morris, married in Fulton Co. in 1895, I am now thinking that Phoebe died and is buried somewhere in the county. She surely came with her son-in-law, Daniel D. Thompson, his son and bride-to-be since she had been living with them since before 1880. According to the family Bible, she died in 1899 but there is no notation as to where she died or is buried. I am also searching in Oregon Co., MO since Daniel and John were living in Thayer in 1900. I have searched County Line Cemetery in Baxter Co.,AR where many Morrises are buried - most of which are probably related to my line. I know she is not in a marked grave in Riverside in Mammoth Spring because I am quite familiar with that one. Her son and his wife and her grandson and his wife are buried there. Any information no matter how small would be appreciated. Catherine Gillespie Marx
Thank you so much. This is such a helpful list. For the record, this John Evan Thompson is the son of Daniel D. Thompson and Louisa J. Hand Morris. Louisa was the sister of John S. Morris who was enumerated in Baxter County in 1900 and then lived the rest of his life in Salem. I haven't found anyone in this county researching this Morris line but if there is someone, I am willing to share my information which is plentiful. Can anyone give me some information concerning the Sarah Gullett found on the 1850 Fulton Co., AR census. This person is in the Richard Ervin/Irvin Adams household. I believe she might be Sarah McFelch (some of you spell that differently McFletch, McFlech - but documents in the Wolf family and the 1850 census spell it McFelch) and if so, I have no data on her husband. Can someone look up the actual entry to see if it lists her as a widow or not. I would also like to know something about the Sarah McFelch age 50 listed in the same household. I know she is the mother of Ann Jane McFelch Wolf Adams but I would like to know something of her husband Asa McFelch and her family, the Jacob Yochum/Yocham family. I would be glad to have all data regardless of how it is spelled, if you think there is a chance it might be connected. There was suppose to be a younger brother to the McFelch girls, named Asa McFelch. I do not know any thing of him either. Any clue would be appreciated.
