    3. Thankyou for taking the time to help! Nellie May McCraw (with a C) is on her death cert. Her birth in Iowa was a surprise...on Feb 25, 1890 I wonder if Iowa has one of those neat sites like MO has...birth and death records online. Nellie May's father William Overman was born in Iowa, but her mother Mary/Myrinda (unknown) was born in MO I am going to call the Fulton County library today and see what obits and newspaper info could be there. 3. Hi Peg, Yes, you are correct about the order of the birthplaces. Nellie M was born in Iowa, and parents only listed as U.S., which does not help. We find census records seem to be incorrect sometimes, and it is always good to find more than one census record. In the 1930 Census, one of the questions was age at 1st marriage. If we could find a 1920 census, perhaps we would find how many marriages and any children. The McGraw could easily have been read McCraw, so we really need more documentation. Does her death cert. use the name McGraw? You might find an obit in the Blythville paper or Manila paper. Their on-line papers do not archive more than a short period, but if you sent them an e-mail, they might search previous issues. Second, get a microfilm of the probate records and save the expense of time and money if you don't live close to the Clerk's office.

    3. Well, I was going by my knowledge of Texas records! :-) My experience with Arkansas (limited as it is in that area) has so far proven to be the same. If the will isn't probated, they don't know about it. Dale -- No virus found in this outgoing message. Checked by AVG Anti-Virus. Version: 7.0.300 / Virus Database: 265.8.7 - Release Date: 2/10/2005

    3. Yes, I will askm about the obit when I call! Her death cert. gives fathers name as William Overman and mother as Mary (unknown). Her funeral director was Albert Carr in Thayer, MO and her burial was in Manila Cemetary, Manila, AR I will have to see if I can access phone numbers for those. Perhaps something will turn up there. We have a friend locally who is a funeral director. Our state law, at least, saws that records must be kept for YEARS. 3. Hi Peg, We checked the 1930 census for Mammoth Springs, but there was only one McGraw. 1830 Census, Mammonth Springs City pg. 230 McGraw, Lizzie A 43 wd 18 yrs old at 1st marriage AR MS MS Roy H. 21 AR Iowa AR Bernice 18 AR AR AR Alice 16 Ar AR AR. This is not Nellie May "Mary" McGraw, but could be related. Since you have the death certificate of Nellie, is there any other information given? Where was she buried? Name of Funeral Home? Name of parents? Since you know the exact date of death, try to find an obit. The Fulton Co Library at Salem may have copies of past papers which might have the obit. 3. Hello listers!! I am new to this list and new to Arkansas research. Can anyone tell me which county office would hold PROBATE records for Fulton? Clerk of Courts? Register Recorder?? If you are also local, can you provide a phone # ?? I am researching Nellie May OVERMAN McGRAW (Feb 25, 1890 to April 13, 1969 ) She was born in Peace Valley, MO and died in Mammoth Spring, AR I am hunting for a missing sister (in CA) married to a Phillips, and also husband McGraw's name and dates. Does anyone have anything on her? She may have also had a teenage marriage in MO to a John Jensen. Many thanks to anyone who has a lead. This family moved around every few months it seems. Peggy
