    1. WELLS or WELCH connection to MAY
    2. All, I'll take a shot in the dark approach at this. I'm looking for a WELLS or WELCH family with a marriage to a MAY family. The WELLS/WELCH brother may go by the name John and could have lived around Byron between Salem and Mitchell in present day Fulton County. His sister Amanda may have married a MAY who was killed while moving after a house burned possibly in Greenville, TN (so the family story goes). Amanda would have been born about 1844 and is shown here in the 1880 Census: http://www.familysearch.org/Eng/Search/Census/household_record.asp?HOUSEHOLD_CODE=1880US_11628273&HOUSEHOLD_SUB=1&frompage=99  Name Relation Marital Status Gender Race Age Birthplace Occupation Father's Birthplace Mother's Birthplace  Amanda MAY  Self  W  Female  W  36  TN  House Keeping  NC  NC  Fanny W. 3. Jim and Judy: Thanks so much for all this information. I have printed it out and will check through it. I think that Nathan Jackson may have been a cousin or nephew of my Gr-gr-gr-grandfather Miles Jackson. I know that a lady told my mom, years ago, that she was kin to her, and her dad was Jesse Jackson. So, I have traced her line from Jesse, back to Nathan. Now if I could just find out for sure who his father was. I am thinking it may have been the John Jackson who was also in Izard County in 1850 and living in the same Twp. as Miles Jackson and family, along with a couple of other Jackson families, Nathan and one other. I know our answers are out there somewhere so we just keep looking. Thanks again for sending this; I appreciate it very much. 3. This notice was in a local Izard Co. Newspaper today. Thought someone might know some family members. MRID is in possession of an old tombstone. It is a Woodsmen of the World Memorial. The name on the stone is William A. Wilson, dated April 30, 1869 to July 9, 1918. In checking with past commissioners, we can verify that this has been her at MRID for many years. However, no one is knowledgeable on how it got here or to who it may have a familial meaning. If anyone has information concerning this, we would appreciate them contacting the MRID office at 870 670 5184. Note: MRID is in Horseshoe Bend AR. North east part of Izard Co. AR. Betty BB

    3. Ilene, Who's farm did you list? (Or may I ask?) My parent's live at Wheeling. There's nothing at Union except for the old church and cemetery. I have some family buried there... Campbell's. Blue Duck was a woman and there was no reservation at the time. It was Delaware Indian Territory before Missouri became a state. And yes, the info is amazing that you find while doing genealogy. I just wish I had more time. I'm a nurse and now doing traveling across the U.S. so I don't have much puter time anymore. Vicki

    3. I sell Real Estate here in Baxter County, Ar. & I listed a farm yesterday in Wheeling. What a coinsidense! I had never been there. Then this morning alot of inquires on Emails from there. Like a vision almost. Also, it's clost to Union where I've found census records on alot of my ancestors. My grandpa was born in 1887 in Salem his death cert. says ,wonder if it was Wheeling now or Union. I'm going back over there to put up some signs & go to Union. Also, rumor has it that Katie Manning went to an Indian Reservation for a while at least, wonder if she was a decendant of Blue Duck. Is he the same mean Blue Duck on Lonesome Dove? What a bunch of stuff you come up with doing this geneology. Have you found a good Fulton Co, page to go to? Great hearing from you. Ilene P.S. Where would the Indian Reservation be ? Katie was born Izard, Co. Aug.1894. ----- Original Message ----- From: "Vicki Rhodes" <vlrhodes@centurytel.net> To: <ARFULTON-L@rootsweb.com> Sent: Monday, February 21, 2005 1:10 PM Subject: Re: [ARFULTON] Book out and Langston > Sorry, I have no Winnie Rhodes or any Manning. 3. Sorry, I have no Winnie Rhodes or any Manning. But that's not to say that they aren't on my tree! The Rhodes is my ex-husband's line and I have been trying to gather info on them because of my sons. I do have a Daniel Rhodes born 1840 and a Henry born 1849. Bennett Elisha Rhodes was b. abt 1770 in North Carolina and migrated to Missouri. There he married a Delaware Indian , Blue Duck. His children were born in Delaware territory around Cape Giradeau, Missouri. The Wheeling and Union areas were bustling in the 1880's. I know that Wheeling had a store, post office, and cotton gin. There used to be a lake there and it was almost named Lake City or something along those lines. The gin and post office are long gone, and so is the lake. but I remember the store still being there when I was a child. Tom Cone owned it at that time and he used to give my sister and I candy whenever we would be down visiting from Kansas City. I have asked some of the old timers around if they remember a lake at Wheeling, but none do. .

    3. Vicki, I am trying to find Winnie Rhodes who Married Andrew Manning {Izard Co.} Are you any relation? They had a son Thomas who must have died early & a daughter named Katie who married Feland Bonner. She lived around the Walnut Ridge area most of her adult life. 1. Bookout and Langston
    2. Vicki Rhodes
    3. I have been reading the Langston's info posted and don't know why I haven't thought of this before but here goes. Jehoiada Jesse Langston married Nancy Bookout. She was the sister to Mary Bookout who married William Howard Crouch sometime in the 1860's. Is there anyone out there that can tell me when they married? They are my g-g-grandparents and no one has been able to find any info on them. They are both buried in the old Robert's cemetery in the Wheeling community of Fulton County on property now owned by Roye Scribner. If my memory serves me right there is a headstone for Mary but none for William Howard. The family assumes he was also buried there. But Mary's mother, Eliza is also buried in the cemetery. (I don't know where Henry is buried.) So if there's anyone out there that can help me with my quest, I sure would appreciate it! Vicki

    1. John Langston married to Una Wolf - she born 1883
    2. Dorothy Boynton
    3. Can anyone help me determine who the parents of the John Langston that married Una Wolf were? I have no data on him. I only have data on her and the children. She was born 1 Apr 1883 and died in 1931. They had four children: Unnamed son, Othel Langston, Lucy Langston, Edna Langston. Una Wolf was the youngest child of Martin Jefferson and Mary Jane Jeffery Nichols Wolf. Do you have a wife for the John Langston, son of Absalom and Dorcas Adams Langston? Dorcas may have had the nickname of Nancy and she may have been married to someone named Young before the Langston. Does anyone have a John Langston married to a Mary Ann Mangum with son Absolom Langston, father of Caleb, father of a John Langston without a wife also. I just have too many John Langstons without parents or spouses and I need to connect three of them to my Wolf/Adams/Livingston families so any help you can give me would help.
