The library in Salem as well as the court house, has a great deal of information. The Mammoth Spring library is very small but does have a few things. I agree on the suggestion of going to the senior centers. There is one in Thayer, Oregon County, MO also. I would love to see the pictures as I had many relatives in Mammoth Spring from about 1900 until five years ago. Please resend your request. The library at Alton, for being a small library, I feel like is a good one for marriage and death info (I live 2 miles outside of Alton) Sorry, I don't know any folks in Mammoth or Kosh. But I'm pretty convinced that if you went to the Senior Citizen Center in Mammoth that the folks there would answer your questions. Kosh is in Oregon Co., but there's a cafe in Kosh, and I suspect that some of the older folks might be there, you could try it and see if you can get your photos ID'd or questions answered. Hope this helps you out. Mary
Can anyone help me with a Freemon Matheny (Matheney, Natheny, Natheney or any other spelling you can come up with) who married to a Neoma (Nemia) Morton. She was the daughter of Thomas Morton and his first wife Sarah Jane Beck. She was born 28 of Feb 1858 in AR. That is about all I really know. She did have a second marriage to someone with surname Terry. She had a daughter by one of these husbands. The daugher went by Arrie but I believe is was probably short for Arabella as that was a family name that was often used. This Arabella Matheny/Terry was named in her grandfather, Thomas Morton's, will. We have never been able to trace Neoma or Arrie at all. We think they were living in Texas when Thomas Morton died in 1889. Sarah Jane Beck Morton died about 1864 or so. Any ideas would be appreciated. db
The Genealogy Library at Alton,MO., is wonderful, it will shock you as to their large inventory of references, and it being a small town. My family are all past and present residents and I have done much research there. Oregan County ,MO., borders Randolph County,Ar,.and many records are in both locations. I own most of the published references from Randolph and Lawrence Counties of AR. ,if I can do a look up,I would be happy to help. Barbara in Wichita P>S. What families are you researching?
Just a thought about the old pictures of Fulton Co. The Green/Crouch reunion will be held in Salem the last weekend in July. Most of the Green ancestors came from around Mammoth- Salem etc. The Cumberland Presby. Church in Mammoth was pastored by my gggrndpa, William Martin Green... Try contacting Joan Coleman @JCole22992@aol.com for Green info.
I am travelling to Fulton and Baxter Counties in a month to try and find a TAYLOR family and its history there. Would those who know please tell me what resources I should check to find traces of a family that was in the Mountain Home area in 1874? Is there a local library with genealogical records? A DAR library? A local genealogical research group? A Courthouse? An historical society? Church birth records? I've used the LDS film libraries and various online sources but can't seem to pin my wife's TAYLOR ancestors down. Thank you. Jeff Jernegan

But I'd be happy to have any West marriages that you might have as I have a number of West men in Fulton County, AR and Oregon County, MO. Thank you so much for anything you might find for me. Thank you for any help at all.
Would someone who has access to Fulton County Marriage Records please do a lookup for me? I am looking for: Robert Lee Engle(s) who married (possibly) Allie J. (maiden name unknown). She went home to her mother at this time to Fulton Co., AR. I believe that her father was dead at this time and that his name had been Albert. I believe she lived in Salem. I'm in search of the marriage record for my great grandparents: Mahala (Presley) ENGLAND to Monroe Archie GILBERT (aka M.A. Gilbert) The marriage would have been between 1887 - 1894 but I can't find it. Her first husband Joel W. England died in 1887 but don't know where? Maybe in the area of Fulton Co., Ark. or as far down in Ark. as White County, Ark. (North Eastern section of Ark.... maybe or Southern Counties of MO - Howell, Oregon etc.) Even if I could find the cemetery where Joel W. England is buried, that might help. (I know where his parents are buried - Joel W. England and Viance England) Joel W. England (jr.) died in 1887. Thanks for any help. Janice (near St. Louis)
