    2. Hi Mary and All Mary I am sending this to the list also so they can see your reply But by all means don't take what we have as the law with out proof. We try to list our source and check it out but they are not always right. We have got so much thanks to so many people and places. Mary could you lead me to the Lina Vinson note I can not find where it is. So we both can correct. Again Thanks for your input Jim and Judy (SHUCK) MONTGOMERY Jim M. -------------- Original message -------------- OHHHH... I think I have made confusion! So sorry! Nancy Minerva (not Mary) Turner did marry Robert Remison before her marriage to Jacob Harvey Stuart. What I meant to have corrected was a note you had on the page from a Lina Vinson, she wrote Nancy Minerva's 1st husbands name as Renderson, which is an error. Nancy Minerva Turner, had a daughter by her first husband, Mary Remison. (Thinking this is where the Mary came from mentioned above.) It will take me some time to mull over all you have so graciously sent. I will try to get my records corrected where ever there is an error. Thanks for responding, again, sorry for not being more clear. Cuz, Mary ----- Original Message ----- From: pabst04@comcast.net To: Mary Cc: Wiseman List ; Fulton County List ; Ark Izard County list ; Janet Ariciu Sent: Wednesday, August 31, 2005 1:56 PM Subject: Re: Wiseman's and Families of Arkansas and other Hi Cuz Mary and all Thanks for the correction Nancy Minerva (Mary) Turner 1st husband name of Robert Renderson instead of what we had Robert Remison. I have made the change in our tree. Mary I am sending a copy of your e-mail and our reply to the Izard County and Fulton County Arkansas list in case some one had gotten the wrong info because of us. Also to the Wiseman list. We have other info to back up some of our stuff on Daniel, his Sib’s and there bunch if any one would like it. Just let us know what you would like. Just saw that this was getting so long.

    3. The 1900 census was taken in June. > 1900 Fulton Co., AR -- Cleveland Twp. -- 15 Jun 1900 -- p. 254 John W. was listed as 11 months old, so I'd say 1899 is correct. The 1910 census was taken in April and May. The 1920 in January although in some cases it extended into February and even March. The 1930 was taken in April/May. Other years varied as well.

    3. I didn't know which was wrong. I have found other tombstones to be incorrect as well. Know I have a bigger question. John W. Sexton's stone says he was born in June of 1900 and not 1899. Does anyone know what time of year the census was taken? Is it possible that John was born in 1900 or is his stone incorrect as well? 3. I was just looking at some pictures of tombstones that I took earlier this year and found something that just doesn't add up. Oscar Sexton who is burried in Bexar cemetery has a birthdate of April 6, 1890. The picture of the tombstone of his older brother Henry "Marshall" Sexton lists his birth as October 31,1889 on his tombstone. I'm no math genius but correct me if I'm mistaked that is only 6 months between children. I can get Henry "Marshall"'s obituary since he is burried in Kansas. Could someone get me a copy of James "Oscar" Sexton's obituary. He died December 30, 1954. I would appreciate any help. I am very confused. Lena

    3. I am having similar problems with a 1894 birth in either Fulton Co. OR Missouri. Upon what report are you relying for Rosa's birth in Wild Cherry twp, Fulton Co.? I'm trying to confirm birth of Fredrick Monroe HINER (according to his Death Certificate) b. 28 Sept 1894 Fulton Co., AR; d. 22 Aug 1982; subsequent Census Records give an Arkansas birth. But his World War I Draft Card gives a birth place of Missouri. According to family lore, HINER was born in a covered wagon on the trail between a family gathering in Missouri and the family home in Arkansas; his mother died at childbirth. As you know, Arkansas didn't record births and deaths until after 1915; I have been advised that the library in Salem, Arkansas (county seat of Fulton Co) may contain some history to confirm the data. I am planning on making the 500-mile trip later in the fall and will be happy to check on Rosa Frost's birth in Wild Cherry if you wish. Surnames: Smith, Gillespie Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/VV.2ADE/474 Message Board Post: My great-grandfather, Joseph Aldridge Smith, was born in Viola, Fulton County, Arkansas on 15 Apr 1882. Joseph's parents were Samuel Smith and Annie Gillespie. My grandmother said Samuel died when Joseph was 2 years old (about 1884) and his mother Annie died when he was 14 (about 1896). She also told me her father's siblings names were Samuel, Callie and Margaret, who they called "Maggie". The 1880 Census of Fulton Co. Arkansas shows this family living in Fulton Township as follows: Smith, Samuel 33 Tennessee Sarah 25 Kentucky Sarah 5 Texas Samuel 3 Arkansas Margaret 9 months Arkansas I'm pretty sure this is my great-grandfather's family. Samuel's wife is listed as Sarah, so I assume her name was Sarah Ann. His oldest child Sarah was probably my grandmother's Aunt Callie. It is notable that she was born in Texas. I don't have a clue where in Texas they lived, but the family obviously moved from Texas to Arkansas sometime between 1875 and 1877. I was also told that Samuel's widow remarried. Can anyone provide any information on this family?
