    3. I'm not sure, but I think the step son, Arthur Pulley was born out of wedlock. I think his mother Mary was originally a Pulley. Thanks for looking this up for me Dale. Ginger Dale Marr <marrdye@sbcglobal.net> wrote: > I'm sorry, but are there typos in this census? It looks as if the wife is only 4 years old at the birth of her first child. Also the marriage record seems odd, as it is after all the children are born. Nope, no typos. Mary was married to someone named Pulley first, and the step-son, Arthur Pulley, is her son from that marriage. Then Mary married James Smith in 1899 or 1900. (The census showed they'd been married "1 year," but that could be anywhere from a few months to over a year. I think that's probably their marriage record I found in Sharp Co. in 1900. James Smith was also married before, and all the Smith kids are his from his previous marriage(s). None of the children listed belong to both of them. At least that's how I interpret it. > 1900 Fulton Co., AR -- Afton Twp. -- 15 Jun 1900 -- p. 192 > > Smith, James 50 Mar 1850 MO KY IL Head md. 1 yr. > Mary 27 Jan 1873 AR TN TN Wife 1 ch./1 liv. > Edmond 22 Nov 1877 AR MO AR Son > Bert(?) Surnames: Matkins, Anderson Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/an/VV.2ADE/481 Message Board Post: I have an Ellen May Matkins that married Henry Franklin Anderson in 1889 in Fulton County and I'm wondering if any of her siblings might have also been in FC at the time...they are: Jane, Missouri Anna, Nancy Anna, Sarah, George, and Unity.... If any of these names ring a bell I'd love to share info. These children were born between 1856-1879...all but Unity were born in MO, Unity was born in KS! 2. Morn-in Jim S. Sorry to be so long in getting back. Jim I see what you mean as to Joseph being in two different generations in your tree. I agree that is the thing giving us problems. Jim, I am sending a outline of what we have on Glover Davenport WISEMAN family. I see some other difference in our tree also for you to compare. But Jim what ever you do, DO NOT TAKE OURS AS THE LAW. I am also sending it to the lists for their info and comments. You would not have ran across Davenport Wiseman and a Matilda. We have found them in the 1850 Fulton Co., AR -- Union Twp. -- 14 Oct 1850 -- p. 158 Davenport WISEMAN 25 Tennessee Matilda 26 Alabama We have not found any more on them any where in our looking for Grandmaw Sophronia. Keep thinking this could be a connection. Would be about the right age. Jim you can find our tree at http://worldconnect.rootsweb.com/cgi-bin/igm.cgi?db=pabst2 It would have a lot more of our notes we have gotten together that would have been to big to put to the list.
