Hello, I am researching the following families, Butler, Brown, Wyatt, Stuart and the Turners of Fulton/Izard Counties. William M. Butler son of Rueben Butler married first, Brown then Elisabeth Wyatt daughter Minnie B. Butler married George Washington Stuart. Father of George Stuart was Jacob Harvey Stuart who married 2nd. Nancy Minerva Turner. I have quite a bit of information about these families (20 yrs of data) and will happily share or exchange information with any related family. Would really love to receive more information about Rueben Butler and his wife, also the Turner family, Nancy Turner's parents were Hiram and Mary, believe Mary to be a Rich of GA. So glad to be a part of the "list". Mary E. Clegg of California
My families' roots are in the Fulton/Sharp County area around the Agnos/Ash Flat/Peace Valley communities. My father was Lowell L. "Jack" Estes (b. 1919). My paternal grandfather, Arlie Estes, b. 1891, was postmaster at Agnos for 35 years. His father was James Madison Estes (b. 1852) the son of James Estes (b. 1823), and his mother was Adeline McCord, the d/o Daniel McCord and Nancy Jane Wiles. James Estes (b. 1823) was our original settler in the Agnos area, moving into the area in the early 1850's. The old homestead is just east of Agnos on the highway. The rural water tower stands near the site of the old house. My grandmother was Elvada "Vadie" Manry, the d/o Lavelle Manry and Judie Frances Short. Lavelle Manry was the s/o Edward F. Manry and Margaret N. Moore. Margaret Moore was d/o Daniel Duffel Moore and Jane G. Shaw. My mother is Mrs. Artie Boothe Estes. My maternal grandfather was John Wesley Boothe (b. 1899) the s/o George W. Boothe (b. 1868) and Mollie Brashears. George W.'s father was Ferguson Boothe, (b. 1811) one of Sharp Counties earliest settlers. My grandmother was Nettie Thomas, the d/o John W. Thomas and Susan C. Roberts. The Thomas family left the area for Oklahoma. Susan C. Roberts was the d/o William Asbury Roberts (b.1852) and Hannah Johnson (b. 1852). I have no information on Hannah Johnson or Jane G. Shaw. Anything will be appreciated. As always, I am willing to share any information I have. Ron Estes

Hi Marcia Without doing some extensive travelling, we don't have access to census records, unless it is the 1880 census (we have the LDS set here) or unless it is on line, and it is hard to keep track of those. We would appreciate if you would send us the extract for 1900 or 1910 census record, Big Creek twp or Cleveland twp. for John W. Ferrell b. c.1852 with wife M. J. Thanks. As far as I can tell, Reuben is not in my line. I suspected that this was Reuben's line but thought I should be certain. Jackie, we have communicated in the past when both of us were researching Gillespies in Lawrence County, AR. I would be interested in knowing who Margaret's father was. My Gillespie line is James and wife Elizabeth in the Lawrence Co. 1870 census. They had three children - James (my grandfather), Susan and William. I know nothing at all about William. Just wondering if there is a connection. Catherine jp55 wrote: > I am researching the Gillespie family. One daughter Margaret P. Gillespie > married A. Olem CASEY and had three children. I am Catherine Gillespie Marx of Milwaukee, WI. I grew up in Thayer, Oregon, MO, just over the line from Mammoth Spring, Fulton, AR. I had relatives in Mammoth and spent much time there. I am looking for information on John S. Morris who is buried in Salem Cemetery. I would like to know who and when he married before he married Sarah Parlee. I have been told by one of her relatives that he was thought to have had a son. John was a brother of my great grandfather, George H. Morris and another brother, Henry C. "Bud" Morris. All three brothers came to the area from VA with stops along the way in IN (for George, at least). Any information on Bud's children or wife, May, would also be appreciated. He is buried in Field Creek Cemetery but I think May moved to Oklahoma after his death. I would also like to learn more about a Hendriekson family that lived near Bakersfield, I believe. A Charles Hendriekson married Virginia Lizabeth Morris, George's daughter, on May 17, 1894. She is buried at County Line Cemetery near Bakersfield but actually in Baxter County. When I was there this past Easter, I saw that someone had put flowers on her grave. I would like to know if that person is related to either family or just a kind soul! Catherine

I am not familiar with the cemeteries and want to take you up on your offer. Can you tell me anything about where John Thompson Marriott might be buried? I show that he died in 1869 and is buried in Ott. I'll be honest. I have never been to this area of Arkansas. I live in California. And I don't even know where Ott is. Marcia Hi Marcia, John Thompson Mariott is buried along side his wife on a hill not far from what used to be the town of Ott. Ott was named after the Mariott family who had a store there. There is an old barn still standing and that is all that is left of Ott. The cemetery is hard to get to. It requires a 4whl drive vehicle and is on private property which requires permission to access. Ott is located on the Arkansas-Missouri border close to Bakersfield, Missouri. The Mariott Cemetery is located in Arkansas and the person that owns the property lives in Howell County, Missouri. He can look out his window and see the cemetery up on the hill. Mariott, John Thompson B Mar 00, 1796 D Oct 06, 1869 Mariott, Mary Matilda Shadrick B May 00, 1817 There are other Mariott people buried there with no markers or marked with field stones.
